I hope they shut down. I despise Walmart. That company has hurt so many small businesses and forced them to close in almost every area where they open. They roll in and take over acres of land for huge parking lots that they never maintain and attract crime and panhandling. That is my personal observation and experience. Their prices for groceries has risen above those in other grocery stores since the pandemic. I haven't been inside a WM in almost a year now....too dangerous and the quality of fresh food is terrible. A few things I do like there and can't get elsewhere I only order online.j

Gee, ALL the Walmarts by us are well-maintained, cleaned, plowed etc.

Never had a panhandler, ever.  Well light and plenty of staff.

I used to shop mostly Wegmans, but Walmart grocery prices are WAY WAY less.

My other choice is Tops Friendly Mkts and they are the highest price of them all.

I use the curbside and am in and out in less than 4 mins.

What stores do you have that are pricing way less than Walmart?

Perhaps some of these jobs were people hired before Christmas to accomodate the holiday season.

They also had 200 Corporate layoffs.

DH said ours has 1 cashier with the rest self check?

Wal-Mart should be offering large discount when you get finished doing their job for them? They are no longer paying cashiers? I have not been in there for years.

I will only go to Wal-Mart Market.

We don't have Wegmans or Tops in my area. I shop mostly Kroger for basics now and   Sprouts for all produce. Costco for many things like paper and cleaning products. We have Central Market but they are over-the-top on prices....$4.99 lb for onions? They also own HEB but the only one around our part of the state is a road trip. Wish I could get everything in one trip at one place...but that just doesn't seem to be an option anymore.

We had a Walmart Neighborhood Market until ten years ago. It was ancient in a sketchy area, but I and many of my friends shopped there..it was small and well-kept and you didn't have to walk half a mile back and forth through the store to get everything. It was a quick in and out; they tore it down when they built a huge WM up the street from it. We all miss it. Not only are stores lacking employees, the ones they do have are disinterested and not helpful. I asked for help a few times when I shopped there and the person didn't understand what I was asking. I had to pull up the picture of it on my phone and showed it to them...they didn't know what it was. Yikes.

I really like Walmart, and enjoy the benefits of W+. Hopefully, our local mart is not on the chopping block.😐 My heart goes out to any employee adversely affected by this reduction.❤
