Ordering online and picking up just starting in my area.

I'm fighting a health crisis and grocery shopping has become such a tiring chore I thought I'd give it a try.   A couple of friends tried it and rave about it.

You order online, pay online, then choose your pickup day & time.

When you get there, your purchases are brought out to your car.

I know this is not a new concept but never thought it would come to my area for my convenience.   I'll let you know how it went, today is my first purchase.

Anyone else use a similar service?

Our local grocery store, Giant Eagle, just started this service but I've not used it.  I would probably be better off and would spend less money because I wouldn't be picking up things I don't really need like I do going into the store.

I do not think our WM has such a service.

My bestie also did this Wal-Mart shop and then pick it up. She loved it too!  There was one of her bags missing so she had to come back.  For her trouble they gave her a giftc card!  Not too shabby!

I will give it a try soon too.

I've been using Walmart grocery shopping service since last October.  It was excellent the first few months but lately I've noticed a few mistakes.  They don't seem to have a lot of business so I'm wondering if it will continue.  I'll pick up my groceries at 2pm on Saturday and I'm the only person there. That ought to be the busiest time.

I use the service at Kroger's once or twice a month for frozen foods, cases of water, paper goods & the like. I don't use it to buy fruits & veggies, I like to pick those myself. I am pleased with the service & really appreciate it in winter. Hope your first time went well.

The grocery pickup is available at only one of our Walmarts here and it's far from my home. The one I go to is only a half mile from my house and it doesn't offer the grocery pickup option.  Hope it will offer it soon.

You make an excellent point @Lipstickdiva.  I love grocery shopping and always come out of the store with stuff I didn't plan on buying.  I should try this service to save myself a lot of money.

So glad you have this offered, software, so you can put your energies elsewhere when you're not feeling well!  Hoping your health crisis resolves for you soon.

I'm not sure if our Walmart offers this yet, but it wouldn't surprise me.  When I lived in New Orleans, a small family market in our uptown neighborhood offered this service and I loved it.  I got delivery to my door, and that really helped if I was sick or very busy...   I felt pampered!

I don't know about Walmart but that type of service is far from new; it's probably been available from a grocery store in your area for a long time.  And there's Amazon Fresh which delivers right to your door.  They will even take it right into your kitchen if you want.  I don't like the whole grocery shopping thing, I've been ordering online and having it delivered for about 10 years.  It started as a time management thing for me but morphed into a healthier way for me to shop.  I don't have miuch will power and pushing a cart around a grocery store means I'll  buy things I really do not want to eat.  If I don't see it....I won't buy it.  My bff didn't like the car service thing for groceries but only because said there was always a line of cars waiting to pick up their groceries and it took some time.  She's prefers delivery.

Re: Walmart Groceries

[ Edited ]

Our local Walmart doesn't offer grocery pickup yet but our grocery store does. I can't say enough how much I love it. It saves so much time ordering at my computer and shopping that way.  If we order at least $100 worth it is a free service. And it's very easy to order that much. My husband is usually the one who picks it up the next day since he drives right past it on his home from work. It has changed my world. I wish I would have known about this when I was recovering from some things. It would have saved my family having to go in to shop.
