I realize it's my fault for procrastinating. Still, it would be nice if they had some mention of how long I'd be waiting, or even that I am waiting and will sometime get something other than a circle of blue dots. Have I been forgotten?

@occasionalrain Or in line behind millions of other procrastinators!

I feel for you. I had filed my federal but then when the deadline was extended, never did my state or local. Yep. I was doing my local yesterday and had to do my state today. I did my state using Ohio's form, not a program and I mailed it in. But the site was very slow.

Have you tried calling TurboTax?

Thanks but, somehow, that doesn't make me feel better. I do have an excuse, not a good one, but a true one. My printer stopped printing so I bought it ink but it didn't care and still wouldn't print. I went to Amazon meaning to buy a printer that used inexpensive cartridges and got overwhelmed. I want to print my return so waited for a new printer which I put off getting. So here I am waiting.
I've decided to get a cheap printer and just replace it instead of paying $60 every time cartridges need replaced.

I had all my info and docs ready by end of March ... so I filed before the normal April deadline ... figuring there would be mad dash in July.

@ALRATIBA We wanted to hold on to our money for as long as possible. So we filed in July.
Same.

@occasionalrain : Just file an extension (free); should be easier to get through after tomorrow. No penalty as long as you file by October 15.

For the first time in many years, I had overestimated my 2019 income by a bit, so I was owed a small refund. The accountant filed by the usual April deadline, applying that money to the estimated tax for 2020.
For those of us who file estimated taxes, our deadline for the first half of 2020 is tomorrow, too. That could be backing up even more filers. I know that if I had owed money for 2019, I wouldn't have paid in anything until tomorrow!
