@VanSleepy I bring my mirror as well, kick my husband & his laptop off the desk & do my makeup there. Laptop means you can use it sitting on a chair or sofa. I've spilled too many bottles of makeup or serum down the sink. Besides, without my glasses, I can't see that far away to do my eye makeup. I did figure out that if I do have to put makeup on over the sink, I fold up a big bath towel in the sink....if anything falls, I have a 50/50 chance it won't break.

I have phobia about sleeping on a used mattress and sitting on a used sofa and even using used sheets or towels. Who knows who used it before you did? Somethings aren't or can't be washed well.
Employees who clean those places don't really care if they are clean or not. They just want to hurrry up and be done with it. It doesn't even matter if you stay in a five star hotel. Just for giggles, take a black light with you when you check into a hotel. Turn the black light on when the room is dark and you will be amazed and grossed out.
Personally, I only like staying at my home or in one of my RV's.
OMGosh! ITA! I've seen maids wipe toilet seats with rags and go straight to the bathtub fixtures to make them all sparkly. Same rag---no gloves either! Ew.
People throw their wet towels on the wet bathroom floor right up to the base of the toilet. Do you know what's on the tile floor around the toilet?
When we stay in hotels, I wipe everything down with clorox wipes, door knobs to faucet handles and still cover them with plastic baggies when I turn the water on or off. Flip flops in the shower and no bare feet or socks on the floor---shoes only!

@Lucky Charm Oh, I agree. We split our time. We have the girls with us in bed in the hotel tonite & leave in the morning to take them to back w/ us to NC to spoil them for the week and then bring them home.

maybe it's just me because all the marriott hotels that we've been in on the west coast have these comforters. i kick them off too and then pull it back up when i get cold. i also think they are very heavy.
i guess because we don't have the extreme weather you do, i can't really appreciate the comforters as.much.

@Lucky Charm Don't forget the remote. That's one of the first things I clean. 😜
