I like that thinking!  I HATE being called a "senior" citizen.  It makes me think people believe me to be so senile I won't know I'm OLD if they call me "senior."

I guess I finally consider myself middle aged and I'm 58. Doubtful that I'll hit 116 so guess I'm a little off. I'm going to be middle aged for awhile. A long while. Senior citizen? Maybe in my 80's lol.

I think since most of us will live well into our 90's; middle age begins at 50.  The real question today is when does old age begin.  Historically, it has been 65, which originally was considered to be the final ten years of our lives.  That math doesn't work anymore because we are living longer and healthier now.  The new thinking is that middle age extends through the 60's now.  Middle age in our 30's is ridiculous, that might have been true 200 years ago when lifespans were shorter.

I'm not convinced people who are now middle aged will live longer or better than those old world war 2 people who are now in their 90s.  And there are a LOT of them.  On the other hand 10 percent of my high school class from the 70s is already dead.  I don't expect to get out of my 80s.
