Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

Freezing fog this morning so I didn't even open the door. Got our Christmas decorations thinned out. Now they fit in our guest room closet. I'm thinking of making a kettle of chili. This wintry mix just keeps coming. Could be a medium sized snowfall by Saturday.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

Walked fur baby 5-miles today.    I'm not sure whether we've ever gone that far.  Usually we go 3 - 4 miles.  It was nice out today.  In the 40's and sun shining.  It almost felt like spring.   Tomorrow we may get close to 50 degrees.  Snow is back in for forecast for weekend.

Did some paperwork:  Paid a few bills, went through a few days of mail, etc.  Got some tax stuff in the mail so I put that in the file folder that contains everything I need when I do my taxes.

Went outside and raked up leaves that were hiding under the snow that has now melted.  Also cleaned again under the pine trees - some pine cones and twigs.

Took a short nap:  Me and fur baby took about a 45-minute nap.

Sorted clothes to donate:  I've lost 40-pounds the last 2 years (10 after I retired and started walking a lot and 30 after my husband passed away).   I was a size 14 and now a 8 - 10.  The more expensive clothes I saved (just in case I should gain back weight) and put in a couple of storage containers to store in the crawl space for at least awhile. The inexpensive stuff I put in bags to have the VA pick-up Monday.

That's it for today.  Now time to be lazy.  Going to watch General Hospital and  Inside Edition.

What kind of a dog do you have, @BunSnoop? That was one heck of a walk.

My first-born, his wife and my 12-yo grandson went back to CA yesterday after a brief visit. I am resting up today

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

@tansy ,    He's a senior dog (almost 14) a Chihuahua/Pincher mix - about 15 pounds.   He has such short little legs that probably the 5-mile walk is 10-miles for him!   He loves his walks and never is ready to go home even when it's cold outside.

He was recently diagnosed with a heart murmur and also mild degeneration of his heart valves.   I took him to a cardiologist and I asked whether I should limit his exercise.  She said, no restrictions at this time as he has no symptoms.  He has to have another chest xray done in the spring and a heart ultrasound yearly so they can continue to monitor.

I'm so fortunate to have this little one for comfort and is my  24/7 companion.

My senior havanese, 17 1/2, was diagnosed with a heart murmur, too. It worried me when a dental cleaning with extractions was needed but he did fine. He would not agree to walk anywhere near as long as yours, @BunSnoop. Not sure I could do it either tho.

I get teary thinking about not having him with me 😢

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

Southern WV is at 58 degrees, sunny, and breezy, with rain expected to move in for the weekend and several days into next week.  I will gladly welcome the rain over snow.

This area is reporting a surge in cases of flu and viral infections right now.  I stay home and away from others as much as possible in the month of January for this very reason.  No appointments, no grocery runs, no visits, I just stay home.  Once teacher daughter has sickness in the classroom, she won't come visit me.

Outside of feeding my chicken visitors, I haven't been very productive today, but have decided to check out my printer to see if I can get it to print, or just hook up my new one.
