QVC used to sell Village Candles around the time of the QVC Locals.  They used to come in the square jars which were unique.  Now they sell them in the round jars which other candle companies use.   I love them; they have some nice scents and are reasonably priced.

I used to buy Village candles at Marshalls but had trouble with the wicks pooping out before they got to the bottom of the candle.  The candle would smother itself out about halfway down.

Lately I haven't been thrilled with Yankee Candles either.  The scents are very weak.

Try Kringle Candles.  I placed an order this spring and have been very pleased.  They have a couple of new lines in addition to their original, white candles.  The new ones are called Kittredge Candles and Country Candles.  Kittredge Candles are made using the original recipe from Yankee Candles when Mike Kittredge started the company.  His son now owns Kringle Candles.  Scents are strong and they burn very clean, much cleaner than Goose Creek which I also order from time to time.

Sign up for Kringle's emails, as they've been having great sales.

As a former Yankee Candle fan, I was tired of spending $20+ for their candles.  They never burned "right." Seemed to tunnel in the middle.  Saw Village Candles at Marshalls and gave them a try.  I was converted.  When I first bought them, they were $10 for the largest jar.  Those are now $13 and still a bargain.

I remember Village Candles! I had some of the square jar ones. They've been around for a while. I haven't burned them in a while, because I've had my head turned by other brands!

I still like 1803 soy candles, which I used to get at two local gift shops - both now gone. My new favorite is Surf's Up soy candles, which I get here. They're made in New Jersey, and the company was founded by a single mom.

I haven't bought Yankee in a while, but I still get BBW when they have their big sale on three-wick candles! Smiley Happy
