Victoria's Secret is "Out of Touch"

It's no secret that Victoria's Secret has been in decline for years. Its CEO resigned last week, as l posted previously. The company has become more and more out of touch with what women want.

This article from the NY Times explains in detail. It was too long to copy and paste (l tried several times Woman Frustrated), so here's the link:

Re: Victoria's Secret is "Out of Touch"

The sales girl at VS could not fit me for a bra.

The fitting time took an hour. She finally conceded that none of their bras were a good fit for me.  I'm kind of average in size.

I find the panties last about two months with regular wear.

I think the younger generation is pulled in by the allure of the commercials and ads.

I find the quality of their products, fragrances being the exception, lacking.

VS is selling aspirations to 17 yr olds tryng hard to be 25. Kinda like Cosmo.

Their overpriced bras are for barely B's tring to look like a D.

As LR used to say, "poor things! They're just trying real hard" 😉

Victoria’s Secret always sold poor quality stuff, buoyed by the mystique that kept them successful for awhile, I could never find anything that fit me comfortably except a robe, and I am not an unusual size.

Real, mature women are put off by the look VS is promoting. Especially in the “Me, Too” mentality, we want to be seen and appreciated for our brains and capabilities, not what’s underneath our clothes.

This is a fancy way of saying ‘the skirt was too short.’

#MeToo has nothing to do with clothing/skin.

Hopefully 2019 will yield a better understanding of #MeToo,

’cuz we have a long way to go.

I stopped wearing VS many many years ago. Their bras are over priced, heavily padded and the underwires drive me crazy.  I wear bras with no padding and no underwire. Rhône Shear is my favorite and the price is right.

I always thought they were overpriced and poor quality.

I think they are a marketing genius though - their stores, packaging, advertising...
