Has been going on for hours so far.
NG of premeditation is as far as we have gotten.
I caution you all to understand that this is a different jurisdiction, different rules-- HOWEVER, remember the burden is on the State (as is here). There is often a difference in how you FEEL and what is PROVEN.
I am still watching, but they are on a recess, and I have to go to class soon...so I may have to miss the rest of the reading.

Thanks for the update Marianne. Our local news is listening to it, too and are updating as it's happening. Wish I could stay and listen to the rest when they come back from their break. Oh well, I'll just monitor here and news sites. Off to work I go. Enjoy class.

they are at lunch now. It looks as though all signs point to the only guilty (pertaining to any type of murder) could be culpable homicide.

Its a no brainer, he killed her and everyone knows it. I pray they find him guilty for her sake and her parents!

He is not contesting that he killed her, only that it was not premeditated. The judge could rule it an accidental death.

Negligent is culpable in this jurisdiction, equal to man 1 in US. 15 years possible, but judge has discretion on if found guilty.
There are other gun related charges too.
NOTE: No verdict yet, still at lunch. All we know so far is NG of premeditated and NG of murder.

Looks like the judge feels the crown did not come close to proving their case.......

I believe he will be charged with manslaughter, but I doubt he'll be sentenced to much time, if any, behind bars.

Even if his story is true that he thought there was an intruder in the house...he did not take care to ensure the safety of his girlfriend before he went on a shooting spree through his bathroom door.
I think if the judge lets him walk without any jail time there will indeed be a great injustice done towards this victim and her family.
