Mine is the name that I use to post here.

When older son was in HS his friends called him a shortened form of our last name. When he started driving he put that name on his plate. Then second son put it on his car. My car still has that plate because sons asked that I never get rid of it.
So im driving around with a plate that’s really a HS nickname. Ponder that for a moment. 😆

With personalized plates...out come the jokesters....
and banned plates.
Couple yrs ago, a Houston guy got plates which seemed innocent
enough but upside down was another story. Banned.
Google ‘Houston inappropriate custom license plates.’
Tons of Funny-funnies.

Haven't read the replies, but I would never get a vanity plate.
It brings too much attention to your car and makes it stand out, which then brings attention to you.
It is easier for anyone wanting to follow you to recognize your vehicle on the roads or in parking lots. IF it is something that could be interpreted as political, or associates you with any group (I see a lot that are OSU based here for instance) and someone who sees it doesn't approve/agree with what your plate says (or even what they might interpret it to say, whether it does or not) it can lead to issues.
And having one's actual name just completes another piece of the puzzle to anyone who might have some ill intent toward you.
My dad was in LE and would never get them, and suggested we never did.
Some people want to stand out and be unique. I don't need that. I like just flying under the radar.
Edited to add: when I had a kid, I didn't want someone using a vanity plate to entice him into believing they 'knew' us or about us in approaching him for 'bad' reasons.

My husband's is RBT8R. First one to guess what it stands for gets a cookie. :-)
Arbitrator?
We have a winner. @deepwaterdotter, you cannot imagine how many people have stood there trying to figure it out. "Rabbit" something-or-other gets them on the wrong track. :-)
I'm reading some very strong anti-vanity plates posts here. I can't imagine having strong feelings one way or the other. One mentioned that it can draw bad people to you. Well, I don't fear that, but I do like being able to spot my car easily.
Anyhoo, your cookie is, as they say, in the mail. :-)

@suzyQ3 Does that make me a 'smart cookie'?

One of the anesthesiologists at our local hospital had plates that said 'sleepwme'. Yup, he had to take them off.
Then our flyboys at the Air Force Academy's last class with all-male grads had custom plates that had 'LCWB' as part of the personalization. It was an abbreviation for 'Last Class With Balls'. Yup, suspended all of them for a month...LOL!![]()

Mine isn't fully personalized and this isn't it. It was on my husband's car that I inherited when he passed. I like lighthouses too.

Here's the cool part. The day we went to the Secretary of State to get a new plate for his car and a new plate for my car, we went to separate tellers across the room.
I bought this one for wildlife conservation - not my plate

When we walked out, we compared the plate numbers
One was DK79P, the other was DK70P - one digit off and two separate designs. What are the odds?
