I have never gotten a flu shot, but I may next fall.  As far as a covid shot, I will likely wait a bit.  I want to make sure it is safe before I take it.  There was some vaccine developed in the past for something, I can't remember what, and the vaccine ended up killing people.

I wound volunteer to test it too, although I know it is a ways off.   The mental anxiety is quite difficult for me at the moment.

I do not get the flu shot at this point in time, although I haven't ruled it out as a NEVER in my life.

I don't intend to be one of the first in line for a Covid vaccine either, but hope to be in a position to watch and wait to see just how effective/safe it is.

I think with the high pressure to come up with one, that too many corners will be cut, and at the best, it will not be very effective.

The chart I saw of efficacy on the flu vaccine ranges between 10 and 60% and a lot of years falls at 40% and under. It would seem that the way this Covid virus spreads, it would need to be much higher to make a difference for the many.

@Mominohio  True, the flu strain changes each year and we all know it is never promised to be 100% effective.  In a year and a half I think (hope) the vaccine the hard working scientists develop will not cut any corners in the development.  I'll take any efficacy percentage if it means a chance of not dying alone on a ventilator.

@BiftuI try very hard not to dwell on that, but I have to admit that the thought of it terrifies me. It is often a long and hideous way to go.

I have gotten the flu shot for as long as I can remember.

In the Fall of 2018 I got the flu shot and then my thyroid decided it did not like that strain and I had to have my thyroid aspirated.

It was not a fun time. I was told by a few doctors that it can happen--it had never happened before.

I thought long and hard about not getting the flu shot this past Fall, but I did.

I might wait until I know what the side effects of this vaccine are.

I went thru a hard few months after that flu shot.
