I received an order recently......a rather large one.  Two items were dog chew toys made by KONG.  While there was nothing in the description about where they were made, I looked up the KONG company.  It seems they are an international company that began small in the U.S.  I could not find where they made their stuff, so I took a chance and ordered.  Well, when they came, the packaging said MADE IN CHINA.  I called CS at Vitacost, told them about this and asked if I could return these unused item.  The agent said "toss them and I will credit your card."  She also said, "please don't donate to a rescue.  Those poor creatures have enough bad going for them, they don't need a toxic toy."

I have never had anything but good experiences with this company.  Way to go Vitacost!

Haven't bought anything at Vitacost yet but that is outstanding customer service from Vitacost and I'll have to take a look at some of their pet offerings now that you mentioned that they sell them. I always think that if a product is not stated that it's made in the US then it's made elsewhere - although not always China.

I hope you don't mind a side comment on Kong products. Their cardboard cat scratchers all said Made in the USA a few years ago. Then i picked one up and suddently that had changed to Made in China. Was at a pet store last week and the batch of Kong scratchers were back to USA made (unless they are older stock but they didn't look it).
