Re: VIKING CRUISE SCENIC COMMERCIALS

I worked with a man who was from Croatia and he used to always talk about how beautiful his country was. I never knew until he showed us some pictures of his hometown. He said there are many place to visit over there. He said the coastline had some of the most beautiful places to stay if you visit.

If you want to see more of the Viking Cruise destinations, you can go to their dedicated website that features nonstop videos.

It is like you are cruising from home!

The website is VIKING (dot) TV

I'll check this out, thanks.  Have you ever seen the show Mighty Ships?  I think that's the name.  It's all about the inner workings of cruise ships.  Decent show.

I went on  vaiking cruise in 2018 -  pre-covid -  did the Christmas Markets in Germany.   From Amsterdam to Basil Switzerland.  The ship and crew are lovely.  It's very differant from the large cruise ships.  Many good memories and would go again.  The views are stunning -  would like to go again.   Croatia look beautiful, that would be great trip.

That sounds like a wonderful trip.

I'm not really interested in cruising.  But everytime the stunning Viking Cruise line commercials come on, I just stop and gape...

Couldn't figure out where this red-roofed town was --  thought Mediterranean, but the architecture didn't quite look "typically" Mediterranean, nor did it look Nordic.   Looked it up--  it's Dubrovnik!   Beautiful Dubrovnik, in Croatia.

Anybody else like these commercials?   What a breath of fresh air!

And the narration of these ads-- done by the Viking chairman, white-haired Torstein Hagen!  He somehow contributes to the magic, with his fairy-tale Norwegian accent, talking about his boyhood home, in the ad dubbed "Be Curious"

"Growing up in a little red house, on the edge of a forest in Norway...."     His accent is so lilting!

Each scene of the ship in a different corner of the world is more ravishing than the previous one.   Love the sunlit river scene, and the remote glacier one.

Anyway, these commercials, which are both on TV and on youtube, are like taking an enchanted little mini-vacation.

@Oznell - I recognized beautiful Devrovnik as we were there last year on a land tour.   I love the Viking commercials & really love Torstein Hagen's narration.   Viking had very good COVID protections in place for their guests, probably the best.  My dentist never travels because his wife has bad arthritis  & just wasn't open to travel but just had both knees replaced.  He said he watched the presentations on you tube with his wife during the early pandemic & during her recovery.   He sold my dentist on the river boat tours & his wife after watching & hearing the commercial seems to want to "try" one.  He's so happy because he was so taken by the commercials & really wants to go.

How interesting to get everyone's take on their cruise experiences, destinations and cruising in general, thanks for sharing those!

Thanks for recommending the site, @FancyPhillyshopper !

@Stray,  that is so sweet about your dentist-  hope that he and his wife can eventually go, now that they are entranced.
