I received an order from QVC yesterday. It was the correct item and size that I ordered, however it had someone else's packing slip with it. This person ordered the exact same item and size I did, so at least I got the right item and hopefully she did also. I have seen other posts in the past regarding people getting someone else's packing slip with their order, so that isn't the puzzling part. What is interesting, is that her shipping and handling charges were less than mine. The cost of the item was exactly the same, but she paid less S/H. The tax is different, but that is to be expected since this person lives in California and I live in Texas. So they charge different states different S/H charges???

Odd. In my state the tax is calculated on the item PLUS s/h. No tax on clothing. I thought all s/h charges for an item were the same, regardless of location or quantity ordered.

I assumed QVC's shipping was a set amount for any state. The shipping on some sites depends on your zip code

Were they ordered on the same date? Different dates have different specials going on sometimes. Just a thought.

I know the taxes are different - QVC has no control over state laws. I thought all S/H within the lower 48 was the same for any specific item.
As for the packing slip error - I've seen that, just not yet from QVC. My best example was the dozen bottles of wine I got - my name and address, not my credit card though. I called the company and they said they'd pick up the carton. They never did - that wine was $20/bottle --I had house gifts for a year free because of their error. No idea where they got my name and address - I'd never ordered from that company - hadn't even ever heard of them!

It could be that the shipping costs the same (if that's determined by package size and weight or standard shipping rate), but the handling could very well be different with the item going to different places. The items could be coming out of different facilities with different costs. Alternatively, the shipping could also reasonably vary by distance. As an example, if both items shipped from PA, but one went to OH and one went to CA, it would make sense that it would cost more to get it to CA.

The s/h is stated on the screen. Did you choose some other method of shipping like overnight or priority that would have made your amount higher?
What was your amount as compared to her amount? Maybe there was a shipping deal the day she ordered her item?

Yes....they were ordered on the same date (we both ordered one of the lunchtime specials). Tax here is Texas is calculated on the item PLUS shpping and handling. But it just seems strange that QVC is charging different s/h charges to different places.

S&H is the usual price listed but in NY we are taxed on the item and the S&H.

Well, in this case the s&h is NOT the usual price, as her s&h charges were less.
Anyway, since I obviously have her address since it's on her packing slip, do you think I should mail her packing slip to her??
