After being married for 47 yrs., Valentine's Day celebrations  are no longer on our list. We have dinner out often since there's just 2 of us & we really don't "need" anything as a gift. Once in awhile DH may come w/ roses, but not really necessary. We have romantic evenings all the time. I'm spending Valentine's Day w/ my Mother (88 and alone in assisted living). I thought she'd enjoy a special early dinner out.

When I was in college & broke, I would pen a love letter to the then DBF and let him know what he meant to me.

We are going out to dinner with our daughters.  My husband always likes to treat his "Valentine's" to a special dinner and flowers and a little special treat.

My dh writes a Valentine poem every year and we mail or hand deliver around 90 to family and friends near and far.

Just a small way to keep in touch & let them know we love and care.

My late husband used to take off every Valentine's Day and bring flowers to me and our 3 daughters.  We'd go to early dinner.

I always loved Valentine's Day, red is my favorite color.  My husband died years ago.  I have no interest in anyone else, but it's still fun to remember way back when.

I like to think of  young people celebrating a day when we remember love and loved ones.  Romantic or just remembering those we love is a good thing.

When it falls on a weekend, we generally go to dinner. Being that it's on a Tuesday, we probably won't do anything.  Honestly I don't really care.

I believe I mentioned somewhere about this. DH and I will probably have a nice quiet dinner together on the Sunday before the 14th. He has a job to do on Valentine's Day. After 53 years together, it is our way.
