Thank you for all your prayers and positive thoughts regarding my housing situation. I thought I would clear some things up that were mentioned and might of confused some people.
1. I have 2 older sisters. My oldest sister is the one who died. My other sister lives alone in Colorado.
2. The cuisinart coffee pot was mine that I bought while I was seperated and still lived with my ex.
3. I was a stay at home mom for over 24 years. At the time I suffered from severe depression.I applied for disa but was denied because I still lived with my ex.
4. In 2014 I had a surgery called a whipple. It was suppose to "stop" the painful pancreatic attacks I was having. Unfortunately it didn't work and I suffer from acute/chronic pancreatitis. An attack is debilitating and I end up in the ER and have to be hospitalized which my average stay is 4 days. I have been to the ER 3 times this year. I am on the oxycodone for pain control, with the idea of stopping or managing the pain so I dont end up in the ER every 3 months.
5. The county I live in does not have section 8 its called Santa Clara County housing authority. They dont have rooms for rent, they have apartments for low income FAMILIES.
Craigs list was/is a scam. They have rooms for rent, but you have to purchase "time" the ones I did get through to get your email (good thing I set a new one up) because now you get spam and as for my phone number, well I just put the number as spam if its some weird area code
6. Praying and prayers work. I called a friend That I dated we decided to be friends and I gave him a call. I knew he was a really nice and kind man and asked him if he had an extra room. I told him how much I could pay but I would help with house work and he has an 8 year old daughter who I adore. So he said not to worry, I could live there. Whewwww. Thank you my little community family. I hope I cleared things up. Oh, as for disability on the chronic pancreatitis its really hard to get it, but My doctor is writing a letter to the courts because I cant work and try and increase my alimony. So wish me luck and thanks for being my friends.

From the Santa Clara County Housing Authority:

"Our agency assists about 17,000 households through the federal rental housing assistance (Housing Choice Voucher, also known as Section 8) program. We also develop, control and manage affordable rental housing properties. The majority of our program funding comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our programs and properties are targeted to assist low, very low, and extremely low-income households. The vast majority-more than 80%-of our client households are extremely low-income families, seniors, veterans, persons with disabilities, and formally homeless. Working together with landlords, housing developers, charities and local governments, we strive to provide housing and support services to as many eligible families as possible."

I'm glad you worked out a solution to your problem and don't have to worry about being homeless!!  I hope you will be happy in your new home, @hsawaknow.

Try not to worry too much about peoples' questions or criticisms.  I thought your explanation of your situation in your initial thread was fine.

I wish you the best of luck going forward, that you will get the funding you need, and that your health will improve.  Smiley Happy

@Sushimom, trust me, I called the list of apartments that I was eligible for. They were either closed and not taking applications or I didn't qualify. They had a lot of Bill Wilson centers for AA folks/teen and over 55. Or if you live in a certain zipcode I only lived in 1 of the zipcodes. And unless you live in SCC you would have sticker shock. I stay here because my youngest son is 11. And I love him more then anything next to God. Plus I dont approve of the way his Dad is raising him, Im trying to give him the foundation of respect, morals, values and kindness.

@hsawaknow,   I do believe you've been doing everything you can to find a workable resolution to this dilemma.    It sounds like you have a good friend there to provide a safe home.   I've seen your posts over the years and have faith in you.    I agree with @mistriTsquirrel -- please try not to let any criticism or negativity here upset you.    I know and believe that the overwhelming majority of posters want the best for you and wish to be helpful...   the written word is so limiting, and often it's easy to misinterpret or misunderstand what's being communicated here.    I thank you for taking the time and effort to update us.   That's so thoughtful of you, especially since you're under so much stress and pressure right now.   You continue to be in my prayers, my friend.❤️   Many, many posters are here to help, support and encourage you!   (((hugs)))
