Yesterday I asked @SharkE about the Threatening Wildfires in her area. That post was under Among Friends. Several of our members gave reports from Texas and Oklahoma. The wildfires have worsened. This has become a national news story. The reports are fragmented because of the number of fires and the distances involved.
Would anyone in the affected areas please let us know your status today? This is a dire situation.

The CNN site had the best general information. I tried the tv stations in Amarillo and the information was sparce.

@On It Thank you. I started a thread here this morning but then I saw the thread in Among Friends so I deleted mine.
People and animals cannot be replaced.
We have been watching local news instead of other media outlets; just a preference.

@Cakers3 Are you in the area? I tried to comment on your thread, but it gave me an error message. I was thanking you for starting a new post for updates. Yesterday was about the threat. Today much has been devoured and lost.

@On It Hi no I am not near that area. I am glad you started the thread as a shout-out to Sharke. She was the first person I thought about but I know we have other posters in the area.
Glad other outlets are covering and the pictures are horrible.
Yes I deleted mine when I saw yours. You must have tried to post as I deleted.
At least we have a place for updates and especially for posters to check in .

My hometown of Amarillo Texas is surrounded by flames. Over 500k acres so far up in smoke, but the biggest problem is with Pantex. Most people don't know of it, but it's one of our largest nuclear weapons facilities. Not good.
Operations at the Pantex nuclear weapons plant have been paused until further notice Tuesday evening as nuclear security officials monitor wildfires near the facility northeast of Amarillo..
