@kjae wrote:I have not had a post removed, but after reading the number of items one male moderator removed this evening I wrote an email to Q expressing that perhaps some mods are over zealous in their job. When I first started following this forum it was more fun. I know it is the Q's property, but perhaps they could re-examine what is happening here and consider lightening-up. I get removing the scammers who would pop up every so often. I know they want to protect thier hosts, but some criticism should be allowed because some of it is deserved.
@kjae, go through your statement and make note of the subjectivity of some of your comments.
You are saying, as an example, when you started posting "...this forum...was more fun". For YOU, it was, for everyone, perhaps not. You think criticism of "thier (sic) hosts is deserved". Are you a certified TV sales host critic? What qualifies/authorizes you to make the decision as to which host needs criticism and which doesn't?
And have you not noticed the PERPETUAL PILE-ONS, when someone senses how much FUN it is after a poster has made a hostile comment, to add to their comment and embellish it and make it even nastier?
There are SPLENDID ONLINE SITES where hostility and belligerence are WONDERFUL tools for posters, where politics and religion and human rights can be bashed into pulp, if that's what floats your boat, but WHY stay in an innocent, innocuous site where people like to discuss babies and gardening and home improvements and puppies and what colors to wear?
I HOPE those sites are flourishing somewhere. I get my insights into them by talking with people who disagree with me in real life, rather than seeking out anonymous snarl ers to wrangle with. Why are some people here so H**l bent on making me watch their verbal fisticuffs? That's not why I like it here.......

There are literally thousands of message boards that allow uncensored posts. If none of them suit your taste you can start your own board and create your own rules. To think that the moderators are keeping "em dumbed down" is absurd. You agreed to particpate by their rules and you are bound by them.
Explore options if you don't like how things are run here.

Then please explain why my thread was poofed, when it was a simple thread asking for prayers, and I specifically asked that politics be kept out of it?
The reason given for it having been poofed?
It, the subject, reason for the prayer request, was "upsetting" to some people.
Well, I find it upsetting that a simple thread asking for prayers is deleted.
Interesting.
I thought you were being sincere with your subsequent thread "Sorry". I didn't realize until I saw other posts that you were mocking posters and the way the boards were moderated. And you wonder why your threads and posts vanish...

Why should we bring educated and informed minds together here.
Let's poof all of the important talk so we can talk about Kim K's booty and what the Bachelorette said the other night.
Keep 'em dumbed down. That's why we live in the world we live in!
_________
What is unreal: We know the standards, it's a privately owned message board, for a Shopping Channel! Yet, posters continue to violate the standards, then Whine, Whine, Whine, when it doesn't work for them💙
Yes the the moderation is uneven, it usually is on any forum.
But, this is QVC. If anyone wants a discussion on politics or current events, there are all kinds of forums you can visit. You can find people, who'd love to chat. Of course, don't have thin skin, some can get nasty.
If I went to a current events forum, asked the posters, if I should buy a Coach bag, or save up for Gucci, I'd probably, quickly, get a stern warning, that I was off topic, if it continued, I'd be banned.
If QVC doesn't choose to allow and moderate some types of discussions, so be it!

Maybe the world could use a little less any and every one writing and saying what they are thinking "out loud".
I am rather tired of the fighting, self-centered, ego driven "I am right, you are dirt" comments here, there and just about everywhere.
Self censuring seems to be a lost art.
07-15-2016 08:22 AM
Nope, not "right" for me, and you make a GREAT point. There is no RIGHT way to have a discussion about partisan politics here, because your "right" is my "wrong" and VICE VERSA.
Do the posters who post slanted political comments FROM ANY POINT OF VIEW misundestand that such posts are not permitted OR do they think that by constantly posting what they please, such posts will prevail (they won't) OR are they posting without the ability to self check what they are saying????
If I wish to discuss subjects topics that are NEVER permitted here, I go to websites where they FLOURISH, and ask my questions about 18/10 flatware HERE.
I have requested, and offered, prayer on occasion. If because of those threads, someone is offended, and can honestly not see the dfference between criticizing and castigating a specifc religious practice or the people who practce a faith in a particular way, I can go elsewhere.
Yet isn't that what many of the people who post that they want to stay here and say whatever they want to say whenever they want to say it are thinking too? AND THAT'S why topics that are banal aand benign and peaceful are at home here, and HOT TOPICS are not. WHY IS THAT DIFFICULT?????

Wow, just reading most of this.
Before long, I don't see this as being worth it to the Q to leave this going on. What for?
07-15-2016 08:40 AM
I didn't see anything over the top on the thread yesterday relating to news events yet the mods poofed it. Sad that happened.

This is not a general forum, it's a shopping forum....specifically a Q shopping forum. Therefore, discussion of world events, politics, religion, and so on doesn't pertain to the purpose of this forum. In fact, Q is being generous in allowing some threads that don't pertain to shopping and products, such as TV and book threads. Look elsewhere for a general purpose forum. IMO.
