My half drinks are in the fridge too!  I pour them out before bed.

I dislike the taste and scent of bananas but I buy them because I like how they look in my fruit bowl. I suspect some might find that peculiar, so I wonder if other posters do things that some might find odd.

The banana thing is totally something I might do.  However, the hubs likes them (even though I don't) and I can morph them into banana bread (which I do like if it's not too banana-y).

I tend to buy gigantic bags of lemons for a fruit display, but generally only use about a third of the harvest I display.  Same concept I suppose.

@faeriemoon,

Maybe make some lemonade!

or a lovely lemon cake!

A slice of lemon cake on a plate in front of a cake stand holding the rest of the cake.

That's a beautiful cake!  Yes, that's what I do; I make a mean Limoncello cake!  However, it's not as jazzy looking as the one you posted.  Woman Happy

@faeriemoon,

Wow! You really do! I love that.

My mother always made a really good lemon cake from a bundt pan with a lemon sugar glaze for frosting. It kind of melted in your mouth! Does yours have lime and lemon? That is so great!

Re: Unorthodox Practices

[ Edited ]

@cindyNC. I have a recipe for homemade dog treats from a shelter so Vet approved that uses bananas also.

2 ripe bananas 2 eggs  1/4 C. plus 2 T. regular peanut butter, 2 cups oat flour (I grind up oatmeal to a fine meal as cheaper) 1 1/3 C. rolled oats.  Spoon on to parchment paper and flatten. Bake 45 minutes 300 degrees F. and refrigerate or freeze.  Makes about 40 treats.

@on the bay Mine has lemon, lemon juice and of course, Limoncello liqueur.

No lime though; but I do love lime.  Key lime is my favorite pie, but it must have whipped cream not meringue.

I will look for that Limoncello cake recipe when I have a minute.  I'll post it.

@cindyNC  You are welcome. I have two others. One does not need refrigeration but a bar type takes hours to dry in the oven. Peanut butter oatmeal type. It is packaged and sold at our Humane Society Thrift Store.

 The one with pumpkin and dry milk I have not made yet looks good and easy.

Pumpkin Dog Treats

300 degrees F  20 minutes. Greased cookie sheet drop by spoonful about half a Tablespoon.

1 15oz. can mashed pure pumpkin

3/4 C. uncooked Regular Cream of Wheat Rice Cereal (not quick)

1/2 C. Dry Nonfat Milk

Refrigerate or freeze. 40 treats
