Those critters you are attracting with food carry rabies. If a pet or person is bitten, they are in a world of trouble.

They will also try to invade your house crawl space.

@occasionalrain It is definitely "peculiar" and feeding wild animals is not a good idea. Agree with others who suggest getting fake bananas.

And Roof Rats .aka Fruit Rats..dont forget about them. You may have them coming at night and not even know it. I did.

They were eating the dragon friut growing on vines that were growing in my Costa Rican Ear tree. Fomer homeowner had a ton of those but funny id see the fruit and next day i wouldnt.

Pest controller said they were eating through the soffit into my attic. Came home one day and saw one in broad daylight in my living room eating and sitting in my Dragon Fingers ( not a fruit) planter munching away.

You are attracting critters who become and may already be a hazard to you and your home. Unless you live in a rural area with no neighbors ...you should probably cease doing this before your neighbors are also affected.

I like eating a banana but can’t stand them in muffins or banana bread . My kids think that is odd! 😄

I did a banana and skim milk diet once that gave me a severe allergy to bananas. I loved bananas and often brought some to school to eat before my back to back classes. I didn't know what was causing it, but I got an allergy and it got worse and worse.

Finally went to a dermatologist/allergy specialist, who did a hundred skin tests. Turned out that I tested as somewhat allergic for dozens of veggies and fruits and a mild sensitivity to meats--and a code-red allergy to bananas.

The specialist who diagnosed me had no sympathy. He disclosed that he was jealous, "I am so envious! I am allergic to chocolate!"

There is nothing prettier than a group of ripening bananas--I don't think enjoying the view is strange. I often use oranges in my blue bowl for the lovely scent and pop of color.
