I think unboxing is fun--I used to watch on Youtube --when the gal would unbox the latest of many beauty boxes--a few I bought years ago---not sure it would as fun here depending on who does the unboxing--we had an unboxing at a family bbq last weekend---was a unique way of announcing a new baby girl coming in Dec!!

@chrystaltree    Thanks for the description.  I don't watch Amy's shows so have missed her homey unboxing spectacle.  I guess @Tinkrbl44  didn't see them either.

I love that term "dinner on the stove".  It evokes such memories.  At my house, its dinner in the microwave.

@Kachina624

Sometimes you just cannot understand someone's post when they give only half the information.  I never considered unwrapping packages to be a social event, but clearly some people do.

@Tinkrbl44

"Unboxing" has become a featured event with bloggers who are occasionally receiving some type of money or goods reward for a certain company that may sponsor one of their blogs.

@gidgetgh   I gather one poster felt the host was neglecting her children.

As far as the thread itself, I am surprised the OP was not reprimanded for sharing all she purchased.

I don't even know why I'm still here.  LOL

Reprimanded by who?

@rms1954   Whenever a poster talks about all the items she ordered, usually somebody will come along and reprimand her for doing so.

In other words, I was defending you ahead of time that it could happen to you for sharing.

Again, defending you.  Not wanting to see you reprimanded.

It wouldn't matter who has done this; the point is when posters share their "goodies" there is always at least one Debbie Downer (and usually more than one) to pick on the poster.

I have never heard of "unboxing" and therefore posted to learn what this is all about.  I also do not use FB so I would not have seen the host in question.

So with everyone yammering about "right to post"-that would apply to me, too.

Yeesh.  I was on your side.

You are welcome.

@manny2 Can't even start a fun post.  Some people are just so, so, so well I can't find the words.  So now I'm pretentious and should be reprimanded???  WTH.  I give up.  People don't watch or purchase QVC and they don't follow FB but always have something to say.

@rms1954   I posted directly to you about being "reprimanded".

I clearly said I was surprised nobody reprimanded you for your purchases.

In other words, defending you should some poster start in on you.

It happens all the time-somebody posts about her multiple deliveries and there is always one (usually more) who will start about buying more than needed or some cannot afford all those purchases and blah blah blah.  Trying to assign guilt.

In no way did I imply you should be reprimanded.  Nor should you be reprimanded for enjoying your purchases.

My participation on this thread-I had no idea what "unboxing" was all about.  Nor do I FB.

I cannot address the "pretentious" remark because I do not know if she meant you or the host.  You really need to separate me from her.

I didn't know I was supposed to remain uninformed and not learn something new.  The other poster here is always after me so I take her posts as baiting, rude, and ignorant.

In no way was I assigning anything negative to you.

@Cakers3 I'm sorry.  Thank you for defending me.  Guess I was just getting very defensive.  When I post something it usually almost always turns out people taking my motives or meaning the wrong way and I just always get so much negativity and judgement.  I get that in real life and I don't like dealing with it here.  This is kind of a fun escape for me.  Yeah I know, one can't take things seriously here.  But we are still people and should at least try not to be hurtul to others.  It's all fun and jest.  I was just trying to have fun.

I appreciate you letting me know I was in error.  I apologize.  It really meant a lot to me that you explained it and I feel better about it now.

I simply don't understand the allure of seeing someone take something out of a box.
