@catter70  Sure, anything canned or in a sealed jar will be fine.  It gets a lot hotter than 80° in the warehouses where food is stored and in trucks.

Beautiful cat? Calico or black/white?

Mostly white with a black spot on his forehead and his tail is black. Everything else is white.

My mail was just delivered and the mailman took the box of food i set out. I didn't put it out until about 1/2 hr before the mail came....Saturday is the only day we can count on a time for the mail to arrive. It is so hot now I must avoided anything that couldn't survive in the heat. I had two huge jars of PB, five boxes of cereal, some cans of veggies and some tuna, and two big boxes of pb granola bars. I know the food pantry where it will be taken and those are the things they always request.

I wonder if you can take your donation to the local post office since it wasn't collected today.

I put out 3 bags of food for the Stamp Out Hunger drive this a.m. before going out for the day. My mail has been delivered and the bags are still sitting. On line it says your mail carrier will pick the food up when he delivers the mail. What I want to know, will things like ketchup, mustard, canned veggies, PB, jarred spaghetti sauce, Chef Boyardeee and jarred apple sauce be okay after sitting out in 80 degree weather? I feel like I've wasted my money.

@catter70   I would contact the manufacturer of each item and ask them. Time consuming but better to be sure instead of wasting money.

Our USPS has not left those cards in years but we did not put bags of food out anyway.

This program is nice but food banks often prefer food donations from their lists of most needed items and/or money.

At least your heart is in the right place so find out about food spoilage from the source and take it from there.

They did not provide bags. I just used some grocey sacks I already had and put them in a big bag. Our regular mail carrier picked them up.
