I wanna do that, too.
My 12-lb. Westie goes everywhere with me in the car and there are times It would be helpful to stop at the store before home (I live in the country).
He’s nine so I don’t want to go through certifications. Hmmmm...

Like at Disney- grrrr... now they allow dogs in the park- you should see these tiny little things people drag around on that hot pavement and on rides, yes on rides.. But then you'll see actual service dogs actually being trained- no comparison to those that think no one will question their online dog vest..
Sorry but that just hits a nerve because of my husband, we were shocked... had a friend that passed away from lupus, Georgia wouldn't approve a parking permit for her so she'd drag her oxygen tank from the parking deck to work but security let her use a handicap spot closer to the door.. Just the nerve of some people.. sorry for the rant and with that, off my podium..
Physicians fill out the forms for the DMV handicap stickers . My Mother 85 yr old who lived in Md and she had a sticker when she became oxygen dependent . Her Doctor completed the form. Maybe your Husband Md delegated someone in his office to fill out the form for him. You'd be surprised how many time medical office staff are delegated to complete administrative things for the MD's.

@Suziepeach wrote:@tiny 2 thank you so very much for that information.. I was well aware of the laws prior to my friend and my husband..
Her paperwork was submitted and certified by two Doctors and she was still denied.. Gosh that was back in the early 90's.. needless to say we took care of her situation and hospital security couldn't have been more kinder and understanding to her..
Thank you again!!
I'd like to add about dogs.. a few months ago we were traveling back from Memphis and stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Dickson, TN. Place was packed but two ladies came in and WERE SEATED with two small dogs- look like schitz tsu- neither had a vest on and sat under their table.. I questioned the manager... "Oh they're service dogs." I said what??? You allow two dogs' in without vests and you don't ask for any proof.. BS they didn't want to leave them in their vehicle.. grrrrrrrrrrrr
What's the big deal if they sat under the table???

@katiemichelle, either dogs (other than service dogs) are allowed in restaurants or they are not allowed. It shouldn't be based on size or where they sit. I agree with the standard that they are not allowed.
Some restaurants have dog-friendly outdoor areas, and that's fine, IMO.
