Re: Trying to shop --- I am already getting tired of the crowds!!!

[ Edited ]

 I went to Walmart  today to pick up one item I was in the speed line well there was a girl in front of me she had a about  40 different small things in her  basket . OK so you stand and you wait for this woman to unload her basket all of the Christmas decorations. The  cashier finally gave  a total she starts taking things out of her basket because she said she only had $25. Poor r cashier had to deduct.   It was frustrating. Even when the cashier was ringing her things up she keep pulling things back. If I went into a store with a certain amount to spend I'm going to make sure before I go to the register I don't go over my amount.

I hate the Christmas crowds so I shop early and get it all done way before Thanksgiving.

I actually enjoy the excitement of crowds at this time of year, it feels like Christmas!!!  I know it will be crowded when I shop and I go out prepared for that.

The thing that gets me the most is the just-in-time inventory that leaves many shelves bare.  Then yeah, you have to pay.

I remember a trip to Wal Mart where there was a long line for self checkout, and cashiers had empty lanes.  We've really been trained well to do it ourselves.

Re: Trying to shop --- I am already getting tired of the crowds!!!

I avoid everything but the grocery store this time of year. Last week I went to the grocery store on Tuesday and then didn't leave my home from Friday until Monday so I wouldn't hit any black Friday crowds.

But even my GROCERY store now has one of those mall kiosk vendors who sells the dead sea mineral skincare stuff, the ones who always want to grab your arm at the mall and do a "facial" on your arm. NO! I don't want any of that at my grocery store. I wrote them to complain about it. I avoid parts of the mall because of pushy kiosk people, but I don't want to have to avoid the grocery store until January.

I live in a small town, not near any major malls or big box stores.

I shop on Amazon (you can get nearly everything you need delivered.)   I also shop in our small local stores.

I haven't had to deal with crowds, etc., and I'm glad!  Smiley Happy

Steer very clear of the Dead Sea scrub people. They are not what they seem to be/claim to be, and are not just pushy, they are pushy to the "harrassment" extreme. They are international, and if you really knew...

I can't say any more because the thread would be shut down. Let's just say your money for their products might not be used for purposes you approve of - and I don't mean Muslim terrorism.

As I've read people say on the forums before, I enjoy the "holiday energy" of being out in public shopping areas, when I'm finished shopping. When I've bought everything  I need, I can then enjoy without feeling any pressure or stress.

That's wonderful!  No, we have nothing like that around here.

@HB glamma

Oh, yes.  That's me, too.  I hate going to the post office now.  Uggh.  And when I was younger, none of that bothered.  Well, my feet and back didn't bother me then either!  Ha!
