Re: Trouble sleeping? Try one of these!

@GingerPeach  Definitely give them another try.  There are all sorts of styles, and mine aren't bulky...you can't wear glasses under mine.

The first night I tried them, I wondered if I was going to find them irritating.  But now I'm used to my routine, and I find comfort in the fact that I am now sleeping like a normal person.  Plus, they are really on your face only an hour or two. Once you get sleepy, take them off and get in bed.

I still find it hard to believe that this simple solution cured a lifetime of sleep problems!

I saw a comic about pulling an all-nighter, and how it used to mean staying up all night when you are younger but, as we age, it means we finally slept the whole night through!

@GingerPeach

Giggle!  So true!

After my sister had her first baby, she said...

"People are so melancholy when they use the phrase, 'sleep like a baby.'

I think 'sleep like a baby' means up every 2 hours screaming at the top of your lungs'.

Another truism. Smiley Very Happy

@OnlyShopsOnline ...... OH MY GOSH ..... I just had a lightbulb moment when I read your BluBlocker story!!  Thank you for posting your experience!

I had cataract surgery early this past summer and have not had a good nights sleep ever since!!! It's been horrible! Some nights I'm still wide awake at 4 or 5 am!  BUT, at the same time as my surgery, I discovered I had developed High BP and now take 2 different meds for it.

All this time I've been blaming my insomnia on the BP meds. I think it just might be the implants they put in my eyes because they have that "Blue Hue" to them.....  Imagine that!  I'm getting myself a pair of BluBlockers!  Woman Happy

I can fall asleep by turning on QVC.  The volume should be turned down very low, like the sound of a distant conversation.  It works every time.  Unless of course someone like Rick is on, with his perpetual high-octane delivery.

Re: Trouble sleeping? Try one of these!

I developed insomnia right after my car accident.  Because of the brace I was wearing, I had to learn how to sleep on my back.  I never could sleep through the night.  Some things did help though. The nurses told me to wear socks to bed.  Taking a shower or bath before bed. That helped me sleep longer.  Once the brace was gone and I could sleep on my side, the interrupted sleep was gone.  I slept through the night.

The reason I finally figured it out was that I could trace my problem back to when we bought a new 50 inch 4K Ultra HD TV, lol.  I have had sleep issues for years.  But, when we bought that darn TV, it was taking me several hours to fall asleep when I went to bed.  By then it would be morning, and I was making melatonin at the wrong time.

All of the other blue light objects may have contributed to my sleep issues over the years, but this super duper TV pushed me over the edge.  With my BluBlockers, I can watch TV until I'm ready to go to bed and, the past few days, I've been asleep within 5 or 10 minutes!  I'm also sleeping sounder and not taking as many naps.  Best sleep I've had in years.

Re: Trouble sleeping? Try one of these!

As I have previously posted in "sleep deprived" discussions, I found Neuro Sleep Sweet Dreams mello mango at my local grocer and it works perfectly.  It contains magnesium, melatonin and tryptophan among other ingredients.  The serving size is one bottle/14.5 fl oz. but I typically drink just 1/3 of a bottle and fall asleep w/in 10-15 minutes, sleep through the night (8-9 hours) and awaken refreshed.  Although I only drink it once or twice a week, it really helps me to fall asleep quickly when I need to awaken earlier than usual.  I highly recommend it.

@LovetheseaCan you tell me where to find this at the grocery store?  Thanks.

@Shawnie  Yes, I shop at Publix and it can be found in the aisle where you'll find bottled water, approximately 1/2 way down below Evian.

I prefer Lunesta-works in 10 minutes! No hangover and for me no hallucinations. I use this infrequently.
