There was panic re H1N1 but a vaccine was developed fairly soon. There is always fear of an influenza outbreak & that’s why the CDC has a plan and track cases yearly which can be viewed on their website

I posted earlier that I was going to Scotland tomorrow, but decided not to when my employer issued a memo that didn't forbid foreign travel but did say I might well have to endure 2 weels in quarantine if I tried to re-enter the country.

I need to work there but Delta cancelled without a penalty, having already heard about this FL warning.  I lost the prepaid hotels.  From Delta, I got a credit and will reschedule later, and I hope, truly hope, that this is just a precaution and not a reaction to info that has not been distributed to everyone in Florida. I don't want to make anyone sick, either here or in the UK.

People need to know what is going on, and I am following the infection figures but frustrated by the lack of guidance from well-briefed officials.

No; still going to the Ukraine and Romania in June. I wouldn't go anywhere if I canceled my plans every time something like this was going on.

Enjoy your trip to Disney World!

Have a great time in Ukraine.  I was very fortunate to spend a bit of time there before the Russians returned.  It is a beautiful country, and the people so kind.  I hope the Lilacs will still be in bloom for you.

So sad for the passengers on the cruise ship outside of CA.   Refusing entry to the U.S. and quarantine and treatment (for U.S. citizens yet) is consigning them to illness and possible death.  I am appalled.

Even when we wouldn't let flights come, we evacuated American citizens to come home for treatment.

This afternoon the president said he would rather they stay out.

As of two hours ago VP Pence said of the 46 people tested 21 tested positive and 1 was inconclusive.

Until the Chinese tell us everything about this virus, this seems like a wise course of action imo.
