I would like to do some comparison pricing on trash and recycling removal. We used to be charged for recycling through our county taxes , but they stopped that so now we pay separately. If you are comfortable sharing what you pay I would appreciate it. If not I completely understand. We are billed every three months and it comes to 98.00 . We get a rolling cart for each trash and recycling.

I live in rural Ohio, and to recycle, we have to take it to dumpsters located at several places in the county. It can be a 15 minute or more drive for some folks, so many do not recycle. The bins are unmanned and you have to unload and sort your own things. Between the drive and the work, many don't find it doable. I've always said if 'they' really want people to recycle, it needs to be free and easy, or people just won't do it. We do recycle though, as one of the county bins in only about four miles from our house, and on the way to town when we go.
We have all private trash haulers here (back when I was a kid and lived in a city, there was city provided trash pickup, but that disappeared decades ago). It costs us just under $100 every three months. There is now a two bag limit for that (ridiculous). We have been with the company for many many years, and are grandfathered in at 8 bags.

I am in NW NJ and we have weekly trash pick up, 1 rolling cart and I can add a trash bag or two alongside. We have recycle pick up every other week. We cannot put out anything other than household trash. We pay $96.19 per quarter directly to our trash company, and have a choice of about 5 different companies in our area.

I pay $77 for 3 months to my town that uses Waste Management. That covers three size 29 trash bags or 3 trash cans per week, one item not to exceed 6 feet tall, and broken down and tied cardboard boxes. It includes recycling that is picked up every week and garden waste every week from April through October. They also pick up Christmas trees first week of January.
Each bag or can over the 3 allowed cost $3, but never have been charged, but, then, often I only have one bag.
We can buy their cans for $5 each or buy our own. I use 39 gallon lawn and leaf bags, larger than permitted. No one has said anything.
Must carry out, use our own carts, or cans with wheels.

Don't even get me started on this subject! A few summers ago the neighbors were having a porch get together and the cost of trash/recycling came up. No one talks about this so who knows what they are paying, you just assume everyone was paying the same rate --wrong! Everyone has the same service and yet everyone was paying something different. How could this be? The rates ranged from $66 to $150 every three months. Everone signed a petition and contacted the local powers that be and also the recycling company and just got the run around. The recycling company was dropped and signed on with a new service. Everyone gave up and now share the cost and trash/recycle bins with the person next door. It's a small street with close and friendly neighbors. Seems to be working fine. Personally my cost was $66 and after a year or so went to $87. Buyer beware!

very happy that our regular weekly trash pickup, our regular weekly mixed recycling pickup, and our regular weekly yard waste pickup are a part of our county taxes. we supply our own containers and there is no limit as to what we can put out.

We have Waste Management through their contract with the city. We get 2 big rolling bins, one for trash, one for recycling. Trash is picked up once a week, recycling once every 2 weeks. I pay $60.07/quarterly.

It is part of our water bill. We have Trash pickup twice a week by Waste Pro. On Fridays along with regular trash pickup another truck will pick up large items like furniture or appliances. no extra charge. One day a week is recycling I have 2 bins, I used to fill them both but since my husband passed away, i barefuly fill up 1. The same day as recycling another truck comes around to pick up yard waste. not sure what I pay as it is just part of the water bill but for me it's a Bargain. the drivers on my street will often bring my containers back up the driveway for me.

Ours is paid in our Lee County property taxes. This year was $214.45. That is for weekly trash pick up, recycling bin, and yard waste pick up. A little over $4 a week. Not bad.

My trash is picked up every Thursday and recycling is picked up every other Thursday. We pay $19.50 a month. It's put on our utility bill. They provide the recycling can. For trash you can buy your own can or set the bag on the curve.
