Yes, we used it several times when in DC.  It's like a commuter train for many.

I read it was a garbage truck.

They just got to Charlottesville and now will apparently board busses to continue to WVA.

It sure looks like a garbage truck, what a mess.  There's a photo of the accident, nothing gory but a mess of garbage, on Raw story.  Right hand side, scroll down a bit.

          As I was watching the news, I immediately wondered "why" the truck was on the track???  Supposedly, when these excursions take place, the travel way is cleared of traffic.  And there were choppers flying overhead to oversee trip.  Will be  interested to hear the investiagation results.
