Tragic Accident At A Baseball Game In My City

I saw the boys father on the news last night. It is so sad to see stories like this happen to someone so young. He said the boy loved baseball and was so happy to doing the bat boy thing.

Condolences to that family, and may that young man rest in peace.

This story has been tearing me up.  I don't understand how the hit could still be so lethal when the boy was wearing his protectve helmut just like he was supposed to.  He should have been dazed and maybe hurt but okay or at least not dead.  Or so I wish.

It's heartbreaking @MrsSweetieBear. I do understand the mechanics of it though. The average bat speed is somewhere between 70-80 MPH.

I hope that will be a re-design of batting helmets and other safety equipment worn by teens and young children.

Kaiser's helmet looked too large imo.

I just read the OP.  This is so tragic for all involved--the batter, the little boy, and the family.  In addition, can you imagine what it must have felt like if you witnessed this happening?  So devastating for all.  May the family know that many others are thinking of them and saying prayers for them.
