My daughter is an amazing cook.  She loves shopping there.

She says she can find things there that she can't at other stores.

Now I have found I need to go back to return a carton of chicken stock and when I removed the plastic screw top the foil underneath the cap was broken.   I probably won't bother.

We had one open a couple of weeks ago about 15-20 minutes away depending on the traffic.   I haven't been yet.  Wanted to wait until things calmed down.  I'm not waiting in line to get into a grocery store.  But, I've seen so many items that folks recommend I really do want to check them out.  It wouldn't be a weekly or the basics thing for me since I have both a Publix and Kroger within 10 minutes of my house.

@Icegoddess  In my Trader Joe's you really can't to weekly or basic shopping. Maybe a bit but that's it. I mostly go for unusual things.

The cartons are designed so when the top is twisted off the foil seal inside is broken as well. You can tell it hasn't been previously opened because there's a slight resistance when twisted off for the first time. It's not a defect, it's a convenience.

If you do decide to return it I'm sure an employee will demonstrate with another carton. Hope this helps. Smiley Happy

I first discovered this with a carton of their Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper soup several years ago.

Btw...the soup is delicious!

@proudlyfromNJ yep, that's the idea.  We also have an Aldi's nearby but I have never been inside.  They're supposed to have really good prices on produce and stuff like that.  But, it's enough that I already have to go to 2 stores just to get my weekly basics, and now some of those are disappearing.  Not sure if it's the supply chain issue or if they are discontinuing things.  My favorite Taquitos were discontinued recently.  I sure hope they don't discontinue the Jose Ole ones too because I'm certainly not eating the Delenex ones.

@SusieQ_2 Good to know.  I like to keep them in the freezer for a quick dinner when I'm home alone.  I was particularly fond of the El Monterey Extra Crispy Beef/Cheese taquitos.

@rms1954 If you do go back, try the TJ Supremely Hydrating Eye Cream. Only $5.99 for  a .53 oz tube & it is better for me than all of the high priced eye creams I always used.

Then check to see if they have a Kringle in the baked goods area. If they do. Buy them all.

I'm in Trader Joe's all the time. In general the prices are a little better than the supermarket except for fresh meat and fish.
