And I am joking when I say crisis.  Truly, I am joking.

I really like Kellogg's Buttercrisp crackers.  I mean they're not my favorite crackers in the history of the world (Cheez It's hold that title), but I like them.

And now you can't find them.  Between the supply chain issues and a strike at the Kellogg plant, they are MIA.

In light of that, today I went on the hunt for them to see if I could stock up a little.  I have 2 boxes already. But because of the issues I listed, I thought I'd look for a few more. Not tons more, just a few more.

I went to 3 Publix stores, not my usual Publix store.  I was out driving and each time I saw a Publix, I'd stop.  I found 1 box between the 3 stores. I also checked one Kroger and Target.  Nothing.  Amazon is out of stock.

So I am home with my 1 box and now my stash is 3.  I am really not one to chase groceries around town, but I had some time in my hands so I went out looking for them.

@gidgetgh    I agree with you, those are good crackers.  We have ShopRite supermarkets in my area, and they have lots of these crackers.  I don't know if you have a ShopRite in your area, but if you do, go check them out.  Good luck on your cracker quest!

Yes, the Kellogg's strike won't help matters any.  Timing couldn't be worse, but that was probably by design.

Giant's "5-point freebie" last week was Special K Chocolate Dipped Flakes cereal.  I went on day #2 and they were already out, so they let me have another type of Special K.

Luckily, Grape Nuts are sold by Post.

But, I have been trying to get Special K Protein Bars in Blueberry and in Strawberry for a few months now with no luck, so it pre-dates the Kellog strike, but it doesn't help matters.

@sophiesofers - no ShopRite in my area.  I might try the Walmart near me tomorrow.  I really am not a big Walmart fan and rarely go and ours is always so crowded but I think I can probably stop my whining and stop in there tomorrow, LOL.

I am so glad I read this before I went grocery shopping today. I am going to look for them at the grocery store.

I have been buying Carr's Water crackers, Club crackers, Triscuits and Wheat Thins. But I like to mix things up. I currently eat hummus and crackers for breakfast.

I will let you know what I find. 

Back from the gocery - went to ShopRite, there were two boxes. All the other flavors were fully stocked but only 2 boxes of the Buttercrisp.

@gidgetgh  Walmart's website has them. Not sure what you pay for them, but they are available for 3 day shipping.

@Icegoddess The last time I checked Special K bars were produced in Mexico. Their box says distributed by Kelloggs with a US city listed. Perhaps there is a problem in Mexico unrelated to the strike.

My favorite furniture store that carries a lot of items made in Mexico had difficulty getting inventory this past summer. Something is causing a problem. COVID, the border, trucks, customs? Who knows.

@gidgetgh   If you have an Ingles near you, try them. Crackers like this are usually in the Deli/cheese spread section and not with other crackers in my Ingles.
