The area where I live in E/NE PA had 1-3" predicted for today followed by heavy rain later that's supposed to wash the snow away.
I went out & shoveled for a while. It seemed like we got at least 3" here. I went inside when the big snowflakes were only melting on the sidewalk & street.
It's a pretty snow. There's a lull right now, but the rain is supposed to hit here around rush hour.

Maryland as usual, just had rain. Every time snow storms hit, we get all day rain because it can't get out of the 40's here. I have a feeling our entire winter might just consists of rainstorms instead of snow. We might get snow showers next Thursday, but that's it. It'll be 36F. No snow of any kind so far. It's wet here too. It seems to rain every every couple of days are so. Maryland is listed as a state with extreme weather. The reason is that we could go for years with little or no snow, then suddenly out of the blue, 30"plus snow fall in one day. (No lake effect snow too. Maryland has no natural lakes). Seems to go every 7 or 8 years. And on the days of the perfect snowstorms, (complete with thunder and lightning) we surpass Boston in snow fall.

@Pantsonfire2 @songbird I'm in NoVA and I'm with you both. It's been so long since we had anything that could be counted as a "snowstorm" or measurable snow fall. I do miss at least one. As it stands now unless some weird polar vortex happens and we have a stretch of really cold weather, the ground is really too warm to support anything measurable unless it comes down really fast and for a long period of time.
This "el nino" weather pattern that we've been stuck in for a couple of years is frustrating. Looking ahead the coldest day is next Friday at 34 but then Saturday is back up to 51. It's like it's a new season, not winter/not spring kind of like a wierd combination. I know there are those that hate snow and I understand. I'm from New England. But I still like my 4 seasons. It just feels like we have only had 3 seasons so far.
