They were only letting a certain amount of people in the store at a time.

And one ot the women who work there was spritzing santiizer on our hands before we entered the store.

And they had markers on the floor for everyone to know how far to stand back from the person in front of them.

AND I got everything I went in there for.

I love Trader Joe's!

Oh I love them too.  Wish we had one in my city.  I rarely get there and the closest one is at least 3 hours away.

I am in California and out traders joes had eggs.  Yes!  I got 2 dozen of the jumbo organic brown eggs. Lucky day. I don't go because I am one of the compromised. My granddaughter went and they let a few in at a time.  They had dirty cart area where employees with mask and gloves disinfected the cart. They let it sit for 20 mins then move to clean cart.  Employee with gloves gives you cart and instructions granddaughter said. Gotta lovetraders.

I was at Ralphs yesterday (SoCal) and they were also limiting people inside. Took about 30 min in line to get in the store.

Were the people in the line outside all practicing social distancing and staying 6 feet apart?

My son works at Trader Joe's and it's one of the best companies to work for.  They are very good to their employees and are the only grocery store in my area that are limiting how many people in the store at one time.  They also sanitize everyone and make people in line stay a certain distance apart.  I have been to a couple of other large grocery chains this week trying to find chicken and was so surprised to see no sanitizers and nothing at all different being done than is done during normal times (except for reduced hours and limits on stuff like TP which they are all out of).

I know lots of people love TJ's for the food they carry.  People should also know that they are a great employer.  They are the only company I know of that contributes to an employee's 401k plan even if the employee contributes nothing.  They also have paid sick time (even for part-timers) unlike the vast majority of retail stores.  They are definitely a company worth supporting.

Re: Today at Trader Joe's

[ Edited ]

My Whole Foods isn't limiting customers, but they had limits on amounts of products.

It was still high, IYAM.  8 cans of beans, 4 packages of things like quinoa/lentils, 4 pasta sauces.

I rec'd an email where WF is upping all employees salary by $2/hr and will pay double their hourly salary for every hour worked overtime until May 3rd.  F/T and P/T.

Also, 2 weeks paid sick leave for anyone who tests positive.  Again, full time and part time.

Grocery store employees are really working hard nowadays, not that they always didn't.  But it's a constant. They are in a hiring frenzy, too.

That is good to know!

I have to say that every employee I have dealt with at my Trader Joe's has always been so nice and helpful and pleasant.  They seem like a very happy group of employees.  I felt a little goofy, but I kept thanking them all yesterday, thanking them for being there.

@QueenDanceALot   I have to think that Trader Joe's really grooms their employees for customer interaction after carefully screening for the "right" personalities prior to hiring.
