Re: Toaster Oven....Do you own one, and if so, how much do you use it?

I bought a Breville a few years ago and I love it.  It is a convection oven, good looking on my counter and works perfectly.  I got it at BB&B with their $20 off coupon.  They have two sizes, or at least they used to, and I have the larger one.

I bought the Wolfgang Puck convection oven on HSN almost three years ago when I moved. Being single, I hardly use my stove oven at all, but use the WP oven a lot. It doesn't take up much space on my counter, and does a wonderful job baking Cornish hens, chicken, quiche, whatever. I love having it available. It also comes in handy on the rare occasion I have company for dinner and need two ovens.

Yep.

I have a Black & Decker Convection Toaster Oven that I use instead of the regular oven.

I've always had B&D toaster ovens and have been very satisfied with them. 8)

My vintage stove has an oven that has become temperamental, so a few years ago, I bought a Breville Smart Oven from the Q.  I use it every day.

It doesn't make toast very well, but it is an even-heated and reliable oven for baking.  My GE Americana range (in harvest gold, no less) sometimes heats up in an alarming fashion--or shuts itself off and sulks. I would have to rewire the house if I replaced it, or so an electrician told me.  So I work around its flaws.  As far as its looks, I love my retro stove.

True story:  I had to meet someone at the airport to pick her up--a houseguest.  I was making Swedish Dill Bread to go with supper and rushed off in the car, forgetting to turn the oven off.  Well, Americana switched itself off and the bread was really perfect.  (Maybe the old oven is the smart one.)

It is very nice to have a backup.  The Breville is much bigger and more expensive than most toaster ovens, though, so it takes up a lot of counter space.

There's a mini Breville, too.

I have a Black and Decker one I purchased from Kohls.  I think on sale it was in the $30.00 price range.

I absolutely love mine.  I had a B&D really basic model previously that broke.  I went over a year without one and was really at a loss.

I use it to make a couple of rolls for myself and DH.  Or I will bake my sweet potato fries in it or other individual things I want to make.

There are things I want to make just for myself or for Dh and me and I don't want to heat up the big oven.

I don't leave mine on the counter.  It goes right up on the top shelf of a cupboard next to my stove.  The only appliance that stays out on my countertop is my Keurig.  Everything else is put away.

My Mom had one (we still have it) and used it a lot. To quote her she didn't like to"light the oven". We don't ever use one. We prefer the microwave.

would never be without a toaster oven! it is an essential for me. with the kids coming and going all day long it gets used multiple times a day. i have a black and decker. i also always have a backup because they arent always that easy to find! i usually get them from kohls when i have a 30% off coupon and some kohls cash or kohls rewards.....and they usually are not expensive.

I always bought cheaper toaster ovens and they worked ok, you could reheat stuff, toast, or bake fish, but could never bake a casserole in one. Last year I bought the Kitchen Aid convection toaster oven from the Q and that thing works really great for my needs. I would say I use it just about every day when the weather is warm and at least weekly in the fall and winter.

Sorry, but I have no idea what on earth I'd do with a toaster oven. Just another thing to clutter my countertops. A toaster oven to me reminds me of kids in college. Cat Happy
