gidget......really, I think I would think twice about going to therapy in the morning. I know 7:00 is early, but you really don't know what time the storm will hit, and surely you don't want to be out caught in in. Don't know what your therapy is all about, but if you have had any kind of surgery on your hips, legs, or arms, that is really not the place you want to be....you can always reschedule.

And as far your your DH having an eye dr. appointment, I would consider the same thing for him too.

We just had a terrific snow storm here, and I had to postpone a couple of my appointments at that time. They would rather you do that than to fall or have an accident.

What ever you do, please be very careful.

I'm going to stay home and cook a pot of vegetable beef soup. But DH insists on going in to the office for a couple of hours in the morning. Our weather isn't supposed to start getting bad (ie freezing rain, sleet, snow(?) until about 10am. I've lived where the roads ice over and don't care to experience that again!

That exactly what I love to do when we have snow here and it gets very cold afterwards.

Enjoy your soup, and maybe make some cornbread to go with it. Don't know where you live, but do keep your eyes on the road conditions there.

Re: To All Of You In The Deep South

I'm in South Carolina and I'm hunkerin' down, waiting on the snow.

I have all the bread, milk, and eggs I need...plus I'm going to cook a turkey breast and make my son vegetable soup tomorrow.

Everything has been cancelled, my daughter has to work in the morning, but she should be home before the storm really hits.

I even filled the bird feeders today.{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Show me, how sweet of you to wish us well. I do hope people are careful around here on the roads tomorrow. l

When I hear that you folks are going to be getting this kind of weather, I just shudder. I know how I feel when I have to be out on the road when it is snowing here, and am always so very happy once my car is parked in its spot, and I am inside my apartment.

My sister lives in San Antonio, and they had ice last week. I was very concerned about her too. We have had our share of snow this winter here in St. Louis, and I am oh so ready for spring. Right now it is 13 out side....... But, I do believe we are getting acclimated to these cold temps now. Doesn't seem as bad as it did several weeks ago.

Nice thread, ShowMe. I hope that all you will be safe and sound. Being prepared is key. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1} Hopefully, this horrible weather will get a little more normal and soon.

Hi dear......gosh, I feel so for those folks......they certainly aren't used to those kinds of weather predictions. Seems like it is crazy all over the country. And yes, even out your way......oh how you all need the rain and cooler temps. Here's hoping you get some rain very soon.

Think nothing of it.....only hope that everyone is safe and sound. Don't want to hear of any of our posters falling on the ice and ending up hurt.

Re: To All Of You In The Deep South

Make sure you have some sort of spare lighting in case you lose your power. And also make sure you have some water, and maybe a thermos of hot coffee made. That is always something you seem to want when you lose power. And also make sure you have enough water for washing up yourselves, and for brushing your teeth. Make sure you have plenty warm covers you can bundle up in.

Keep your refrigerator doors shut if possible. That way the food you have in there will stay cold for a while if you lose your power.

Ice on the wires can cause the power to go out, and if you go out when you feel it is safe, please be careful where you are walking.....remember live wires......

Please, just be safe.
