If I lived south and was experiencing snow, I'd be outside enjoying the snow! There is no reason to say indoors and not enjoy it. It's beautiful!

But be careful if driving, winter roads can be tricky.

That goes without saying.. I would imagine that their ground is very warm and they snow won't last. It's going to be in the 50-60's in a few days.

Re: To All Of You In The Deep South

Snow isn't common here, and most of us Southerners are poorly equipped to drive in it. Also, while municipalities usually try to get salt or sand on heavily travelled roads, side roads stay icy and can be very treacherous. Temperatures will be very cold today and tomorrow (perhaps down to 14 tonight and even colder tomorrow night), so whatever falls will be with us for a while. DH works from home, and I have us stocked up with all the things we'll need to stay comfy indoors for a few days if need be. I'm looking forward to watching a pretty snowfall from inside our warm home. Fun to watch, but I don't care to negotiate snowy/icy conditions.

Stay safe out there, friends!

gidget......really, I think I would think twice about going to therapy in the morning. I know 7:00 is early, but you really don't know what time the storm will hit, and surely you don't want to be out caught in in. Don't know what your therapy is all about, but if you have had any kind of surgery on your hips, legs, or arms, that is really not the place you want to be....you can always reschedule.

And as far your your DH having an eye dr. appointment, I would consider the same thing for him too.

We just had a terrific snow storm here, and I had to postpone a couple of my appointments at that time. They would rather you do that than to fall or have an accident.

What ever you do, please be very careful.

Showme- just read this. Thanks for your post. My therapy appt, for some back issues, went fine this morning. It didn't start snowing till I'd been home for an hour or more. My husband had cataract surgery and he had a 9:00 AM follow up appointment and he got home just as the first flake fell. The news people here had done a great job predicting the start time.

I'm working from home and am on my lunch break now. I live on a pretty busy road. Traffic is just about at a crawl in both directions in front of our house. Quite a bit of snow coming down here.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: To All Of You In The Deep South

Our daughter moved from Pittsburgh about seven years ago. She changed her jobs. One of the days in her first month of work she showed up. Normal sentence right. Showed up at work. The company she worked for asked what she was doing there and offered her a hotel for the night. She dared come to work in the snow, in Charlotte, NC. She called me and asked if they were crazy. She could not believe anyone would even notice let alone offer her a place to stay. Apparently traveling in snow was a brave thing to do and they were going to reward her and keep her safe. Coming from the mountains of Maryland and being a daughter of a Vermonter I guess it really seemed odd to me. I get it now. Not used to the snow so the equipment is not like ours to head off problems.

Keep safe southern friends. Now I understand better.
