@Spurt  I loved your post.  You made me laugh out loud!  I'm kinda worried today because (other than eating breakfast) I haven't seen Katie the cat today.

I haven't checked the weather.  Right now it's sunny outside and not too bad humidity (I went out on back porch).

However, it's always a sign of 'something's up' when Katie the cat can't be seen (other than when a visitor comes then she's gone....zip...nowhere to be seen).

I've talked to a lot of people (many strangers) and it's interesting the way humidity sets people "OFF"  Ha!  I think (for some reason) it's especially true of women I've spoken to.

Some would say, "I can live with cold way, way better than heat" (but what they're really saying "HUMIDITY".  Most people (I believe....totally MY idea) that they don't realize it's more the high humidity that bothers them as they often go hand in hand.

Right now I have the air conditioner set at 73 degrees.  My arthritis is kicking...bad.  I also have a dehumidifier going full blast and am waiting for another dehumidifier I ordered last week!

I often have the two of them going full blast until Fall comes!

I actually lived in my house for 4 full days (and nights) without any heat at all during one of the coldest times in the middle of Winter (all electric house...electricity went down...snow...no one could get to me).

It was not good, not easy, but I'd rather do that any day than sit in a house with very high humidity.  Everyone who comes in here tells me they can feel it.

I think the house needs 2 units instead of one!  It's only about 4 years old but they should have put in two.  I'm getting ready for some major renovations and when I do I'm putting in another unit (that will make it 2).

I would never leave my house at all in the hot summer if I didn't have to go out to the Drs, medicine and a few groceries!  Ha!

@Ketra I've given this 'thought process' way too much brain energy time but, thinking about it, I think the arthritis I have trumps (sorry about the play on words) my dislike of being cold.

In other words, when it's cold the arthritis hurts but I can put on gloves, etc.  But when it's hot, well, not much works for me.

I'm 72 so I (like many of you) remember when only very rich people had airconditioning (I definitely was not one of them).  But then I was young and we'd just open up all of the windows or sleep on the porch (back then we knew we were safe).

Just thinking about it back then, well, no wonder I was so skinny (I probably sweated it off).  Ha!

Take care and have a good week ahead.Smiley Happy

@OnlyShopsOnline  I looked at my weather channel thingy on my phone and (according to it) it said there was an EXCELLENT chance of rain (in our area) all week long!

That pesky other side of my brain (the side that drives me crazy) says, "Annabelle!  There's no pleasing you.  You don't like heat, you hate humidity, rain is a no-no...just what they hay do you want?"  Ha!

I do love Virginia though.  I could live anywhere, actually in the world, but I love Virginia.  I especially love this country and when we traveled extensively I couldn't wait to get back to the US (and Virginia).

So, I just need to sit down...shut up (my girls were never to say that word) but it's ok now for me...and (where was I?)  Oh!  AND BE QUIET....(but that's never gonna' happen).  Ha!

I HATE SUMMER due to the heat. It's hot. Everything is hot: my front door, my deck, my car. Cooking makes it worse, so I hate to cook now. Cleaning makes it worse and so I don't want to clean. Sweating makes me feel gross. The humidity is cloying. My asthma acts up. Everyone is cranky. You sweat at night so you can't sleep. No matter how little clothing you wear, it's still too much.

Winter. Cold. COLD. COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait.

OK, so I posted I haven't seen Katie (the weather vane cat) anywhere since this morning.

I questioned her weather ability (she hides in bad weather).

However, it's now a little after 5:00 in the afternoon and the sky is very, very dark and it's definitely going to storm.

The weather service should hire Katie the cat because she KNOWS first hand when bad weather is coming.

Bill is laying in one of his cat trees like, "Bring on the bad weather.....I don't give a @#$%!

Ha!

It is partly sunny and the temp is 69 with low humidity. It feels wonderful. I wish everyday were like today.

The heat is still on here in SC. As an added bonus, the humidity has gone up. Just think, we have 4 more months of this. Hot & Humid, ugh

The other morning when I was getting to walk (5:45 am) it was in the 80's with high humidity. Really?

We had a wonderfully cool May here in AZ.

it is in the mid to high 90s now and that is very comfortable for me.  I like the warm temps.

We have 4 seasons but I'm happiest in temps in the 30's to 60's.  Some of my friends have expressed a desire to move because of snow in the winter but I figure if I'm going to stay inside on the hottest most humid days in the summer it's the same difference as staying in on days with snow and ice.  I'll take cold over hot any day.  Cold is invigorating.  Heat makes me sluggish.

Wear a mask. Social distance. Be part of the solution - not part of the problem.

I guess I'm warm blooded (?), I can tolerate heat.  Not cold!  Or is it the other way around?

Just got in from a nice bike ride along the bay and it is absolutely splendid!

Wore a hooded sweatshirt on the boardwalk last night---was chilly if you asked me!  No AC was needed, just the ceiling fan.

Storms are due to roll thru probably close to midnite.  Love the rain at night and we've been lucky that even for the holiday weekend, it rained at night and not during the day.

Off to make dinner and maybe another bike ride with DH before dark.
