Tips that have Stayed with You

It isn't very important, but my coworker who looks 15 years younger told me she eats tomatoes everyday. And I will forever be grateful to the poster here who introduced the concept of Narcissistic mothers to me. I thiiiink it was jesusfreak. What has stuck with you?

Turn off the AC before starting the car.  It puts an extra strain on the engine.

People can handle most anything with a little notice. It is the surprise that people can't handle!

When you think you're interested in a romance with a co-worker, "never keep your honey with your money".

I used to think this, too, but apparently it's only true for much older cars (not sure how old).  I recently read a Car Talk column that said when a car is started, the electronic system disengages the radio and/or the air conditioner (If they are switched to "on") until the car is actually running.  So I suppose it's up to the driver as to what he or she chooses, unless it's a very old car.

Keep at least 2-3 car lengths between your car and the car ahead of you (on the freeway).  Or count 2-3 seconds.  That is approximately the same.
