Tick season is upon us once again.

I stumbled upon this picture I found useful.  Hopefully, none of us will need it, but in the event this might be helpful.

Ewwwwww, but thank you for the post.

Something to be aware of for sure.

I got a dog tick once, at least it was big enough to see. Those other ones are so tiny and easy to miss.

I'm thankful for my opossum who eats them. I'm hoping for baby opossums this spring.

We don't have many bugs in my area which is high desert and very dry, no humidity.  Occasionally we have a wet winter and I briefly find a few on my dogs but this hasn't happened for several years.

I found if I gave the dogs an application of Advantix II, it seemed to repel ticks and I didn't find any on them.

We also have no mosquitos or fleas in my neighborhood.

One of my friends in Northern NY has already had a tick bite this year.  Yuck. Thanks for posting this!

You're so lucky not to be plagued by ticks & mosquitos.  In the summer, ticks are the bane of my existence lol.  I wish there was a medicine humans could take to get rid them lol.😃

@cheriere.  We have rattlesnakes, although I've never seen one.

We have those too unfortunately.  The last time I saw one, I was on the lake and it was sunbathing on a big rock several feet from me.  It even did the "rattle" thing with its tail!  First time I'd ever seen one.  Thank goodness I haven't seen one since.

@cheriere

I agree.  I am a mosquito magnet and have had to pull off my share of ticks.

So much so that I finally decided to have monthly mosquito spray around my house so I could at least go outside.

We are in the woods, so ticks are a given.  I hate them.
