I have a zillion questions.
It was one purse...that award the thief $36,000,
which is an excessive amount anywhere, let alone a small town.
Did the thief get 'lucky' or was the victim targeted?
What are the chances of all those cars to pick one w/
$36,000 availability? Attaining $36,000 of cash & goods takes
a lot of time...didn't the victim notice their purse was gone. Couple hours & a bunch of phone calls, everything's shut down...it would be hard to get to that dollar amount in just an hour/so. Seems...odd

@sidsmom With the tragic events that were unfolding at this school, the parents were understandably frantic and the last thing on their minds would be to remember to lock their car doors. These people are probably very good at stealing and racking up the charges in a short period of time.
The bottom line is, there were emergency vehicles surrounding the school, frantic parents not knowing if their children were alive or dead, and these low life women decided to take advantage of a tragic situation. The woman that her purse taken didn't realize it until much later, as she was trying to comfort her kids that had just been witness to a devastating tragedy. End of story. The what ifs don't matter right now. As I stated in another post, stealing from anyone is horrendous, but to stoop so low as to take advantage of someone facing this situation, well, there are no words.

@esmerelda wrote:@grandma petes The article I read said suspect(s) (they don't know if it was one or two), one car, one victim, $36K in cashed checks and credit cards charges.
Who knows if the suspect(s) knew it was the car of a concerned parent? I think she/they saw an opportunity (a purse left in the car) and took advantage.
So while she/they are horrible human beings, the details are a little different than presented.
Seriously? Are we now measuring the level of thug? Why does it matter? I'm not believing the suspect(s) didn't know what was going on, no matter what slanted news coverage you choose to watch that want to give them a break.

@MomCat HEY! The "slanted news coverage" came from a paper local to the area. I didn't post it to "give them a break." I posted it to correct information posted earlier in this thread.
If anyone is "measuring the level of thug," it sure isn't me.
