"Eating Crow"- old saying that goes back to the 1800 or 1700's. There was a time when shareholders or serfs could not hunt without the King's permission-or the governor on down the line.

Crows were in big numbers and known to destroy crops.

The "lower" classes were allowed to shoot and eat the birds that would never Grace any other's table....

It became an insult...I ain't gonna explain anymore....this is not a rascist comment by any means. History.
