@grandma petes, its just unimaginable. I hope there were some sort of security cameras in use at the school or where the shopping spree's went on and that the perps get caught.

I'm with you, just when you think you have heard it all, nope. Some fool sinks even lower.

Thankfully, they have camera footage from various stores where they did the charging. Hopefully someone knows them and does the right thing and turn them over to authorities. Unbelievable. The whole community is in shock...then this....but I'm sure that the healing will begin because of the kindness of a tight knit community.

@grandma petes-  Hi, what a horrible experience that must have been. I'm so sorry that you had to go through this, along with your community. I certainly hope they catch the perpetrators. Sometimes we just have to think about the good in our lives, because otherwise we get pulled down by all the negative experiences we go through and hear about.

I hope you can enjoy your weekend, and please say hi to Grandpa Petes.

Hugs, Sunny

Hi Sunny!!! So very good to hear from you. Thank you for your positive words and kind thoughts. It truly is a wonderful community where the shooting happened. The outpouring of love and support has been nothing short of amazing. It's been especially difficult because the young man that died had just lost his father this June from a tragic car accident. His poor mother and sister have had such tragedy it's almost too much to bear. The kindness of the people in the little town and many surrounding areas have banded together to help them in any way needed. It will take quite some time to heal for them, but continued prayers for them all.

Grandpa Petes says hi....and thanks for always thinking of him. You're kindness always brings me smiles. Have a blessed weekend Sunny!!

Hugs

@grandma petes

In this day and age nothing shocks me anymore, too many feel "entitled".  Why?  Unless a person has had their heads in the sand, it doesn't take much to figure it out.

Morals/shame, embarrassment, no longer exists in a lot of society. I have always loved animals, and this even makes that stronger than what I feel for the human race. There is no "bottom" any longer, it is now subterranean.

You took the words right out of my mouth John. Humans are the cruelest animals on the planet. I hope the Karma bus finds the two that did this and takes them down. I know there are many in the community that have expressed what they would like to do to them. I guess all we can do is pray that somehow, someway, they have a change of heart and turn their life around. I won't hold my breath though.

Have a blessed weekend.

@spud188Monetary support for what families?  The dead and injured?  The one whose car was broken into?

It seems like money is the first thought whenever there is a tragedy.  Like money will fix it.  "Let's give money."  And then move on.

It doesn't work that way.

I heard long ago..."It money will fix it, it's not a problem."

@grandma petes  The article I read said suspect(s) (they don't know if it was one or two), one car, one victim, $36K in cashed checks and credit cards charges.

Who knows if the suspect(s) knew it was the car of a concerned parent?  I think she/they saw an opportunity (a purse left in the car) and took advantage.

So while she/they are horrible human beings, the details are a little different than presented.

Actually, they knew the cars were the parents because they were parked all over around the school. The news was reporting it as breaking news. That many cars were not the usual for any given day. They are looking for two suspects. It was just updated on our local news.

@grandma petesNot to beat a dead horse...the article I read also said cars were parked as far as a mile away from the school.  Does anyone really know where THIS particular car was parked?

Does it really make it worse...the circumstances...or isn't it just plain wrong that anyone did this, regardless of anything else?

I haven't read if anyone knows exactly where the car was parked, but there were enough Police and Ambulances around that would indicate to anyone that there was an emergency situation at the school....not to mention all the news and radio stations were reporting about it. The bottom line, at least for everyone involved, was that yes, anytime someone robs someone else, it's awful, but seeing what was unfolding right in front of them, they decided to help themselves instead of helping others. That's what makes it so tragic.

There have always been people who take advantage of others, regardless of the circumstances. This isn't anything new, although I do find it despicable.

________

The Freeman shooting?  Just unbelievable!!!

Who are these people?

It's also hard to see why this boy wasn't getting help with all with the warnings signs..If I had a kid expressing suicidal ideations, I wouldn't have a gun in the house, locked up or not.  Actually I wouldn't have a gun in the house, but that's for another discussion.

@grandma petes

I put this right up there for the trash who loot people's homes after they've been flooded out by a hurricane!!!
