Sadly, we had a fatal school shooting in our community on Wednesday. It happened in a small community a few miles away. What happened while the events were unfolding is so completely beyond comprehension it's hard to put into words.
As the parents were gathering outside the school, there was two individuals that broke into the cars, stealing credit cards and went on a $36,000 shopping spree. Even as I write this, it is still so hard to wrap my brain around how anyone could stoop so low as to rob those that were facing a tragic loss such as this. Just when you think you have seen the worst in people, something like this happens and you realize just how evil people can be.
The entire community is coming together to help all those affected by the sadness. I hope the culprits are found and punished to the fullest extent of the law. Continued prayers for all.

I think I know what shooting you're speaking of. I live on the other side of the state.
It's such a heartbreaking situation, and on top of it, for that to happen in is really incomprehensible, as you said!
I have no words.

Sending love and light...I am so sorry @grandma petes.

@grandma petes, its just unimaginable. I hope there were some sort of security cameras in use at the school or where the shopping spree's went on and that the perps get caught.
I'm with you, just when you think you have heard it all, nope. Some fool sinks even lower.

First the shooting is terrible, what low life humans to take advantage.

The shooting was in my state, too. I hadn't heard that news about the credit card thefts. That's just awful.

I know this is off topic, but it reminded me of a neighbor teen who was being raised by his dad. I befriended him because I felt badly for him. He was at my home frequently. I would have him come over after school for a snack and someone to talk to. He stole my wallet and went on a shopping spree. I was so hurt......

@nana59, I'm so sorry you were taken advantage of like that.

@grandma petes The article I read said suspect(s) (they don't know if it was one or two), one car, one victim, $36K in cashed checks and credit cards charges.
Who knows if the suspect(s) knew it was the car of a concerned parent? I think she/they saw an opportunity (a purse left in the car) and took advantage.
So while she/they are horrible human beings, the details are a little different than presented.

Evil is always beyond understanding.
Prayers to all.
