@chickenbutt....I have never found your posts to sound harsh, rude, offensive, etc. You are honest, straight forward, and speak from your heart.

I may be guilty of this unintentionally. I believe in empowering women to be strong in their care and life. So many times women are treated as second class or worse because of our gender. I feel that a strong position will make us more respected and for others to hear what we are saying. Sometimes speaking about feelings makes us more vulnerable to those that are prone to dissing women.
If others talk about feelings,I like to give a perspective of empowering.

I seriously believe not everyone is born with the empathy gene. The people lacking have no real clue how they come off sounding with some of their responses.
Just be happy that you have empathy and are aware....not everyone is. Clueless comes to mine.

@catwhispererI saw that and I consider you one of our most valued posters. She, on the other hand, is absolutely hateful and enjoys confrontation.

Some people should apply for board monitor jobs.

@ECBG....Why, thank you! That is very kind of you to say. Yes, that thread had to do with this very same topic.

Thanks, Cat! That is very kind. I don't want to make it about me. But sometimes people have told me that I seem standoffish or even stuck up. Well, if I don't have anything to say, I'm not really that great at small talk and especially if I find myself in a room where I don't know anybody.
But those same people DID tell me that, after they got to know me, they didn't think that. They came to realize that I just didn't say much because either I didn't have much to say, or because I am very shy when I don't know the people in the room. ![]()
Also, generally speaking, I think that everybody doesn't necessarily come off to everybody in the same way in writing. If I give a curt response, it's not an attack or me being rude, but maybe it's just the response without the extraneous stuff. We all have our own way of speaking.
Are some folks just rude? Oh yeah! That usually makes itself abundantly obvious, though. Anything short of that I try to just think how they might not necessarily mean it the way it sounded to me in that moment.

Yeah, some people are just Cranky McCranksters.
Just ignore them and enjoy your conversations with the rest.
That sounds like a great title for a movie. The mean old next door neighbors.
There are some posters no matter what the topic politics to lollipops they will have nothing good to say about any of it. I just move on and feel bad for their miserable hearts and lives they must have.

Sometimes, no matter how gently or kindly you disagree with someone, they'll still cry and say that you were mean to them.
It's like they want to be coddled.
Some people only want this place to be a sugar and spice, and everything nice fantasy world, where nary a negative word is said.
That's not realistic because it isn't real life.
If someone is so delicate that they can't handle someone disagreeing with them, no matter how nicely and gently it's done, then maybe they shouldn't leave the house, or go on line, because real life is way harsher than this place ever is.
