ITA, they still let posters abuse others here. It's unbelievable.

Whether you choose to believe it or not, the abuse factor has been cut to a fraction of what it was before.
Disagreement is not abuse.

I agree ... this appears to be a baiting tactic lately, calling disagreement abuse. Not sure what she wants to accomplish here. I'm not around much, but I haven't seen any such thing.

Now that some subjects are banned completely, we just have to decide whether or not we want to stay. I think QVC is pretty much "guiding us" away from all that and they have decided to keep it light and airy. It is very hard to do that in light of world conditions for me. I will stay to keep in touch....but am finding that I want to be here a lot less. I guess, you might say, I don't feel very involved anymore. Not knocking QVC. Not knocking the moderators. If they just want us here to give reviews or inquire things of each other and be more lighthearted....they are accomplishing that. I just, on the whole, need more than this. I do not post anywhere else but I will not stay and complain about "what is" when I can solve my own problem by posting somewhere else, too.

I have found you can discuss controversial topics here, as long as they are not politics or religion, and the discussion stays civil. No disparaging or belittling posters.
I am all for civil discussions. Problem is, I have seen some I considered civil and they went poof. It's only happened to me once recently.... and I knew why...but I feel there could be a happier medium. I guess what I am really trying to say is, imo, this could all have been avoided had their been better moderation. I have said this before....I don't think it is fair for the whole class to lose their privileges because of a few who go way overboard. Wouldn't it have been easier, in the long run, to have addressed those few????

Especially when the thread in question was clearly baiting.

I've never understood being offended by a thread, If something isn't to my liking, I keep scrolling.

If you find youself constantly offended by posts here or think that every response is an attack, it's probably time to step back and take a break.
There is a vast cross-section of people with different experiences and opinions here. Some I almost always agree with and some I never do. Reality is, most people fall in the middle somewhere. I'm good with that.

There was nothing hateful in what I said. I actually thought my comments were positive and informative.

Something I replied to a post was poofed recently evn though I did not think it should be, but I would rather have this than the free for all we lived through for so long when all the trolls piled onto people and said horrible things designed specifically to hurt others.

How in the world are we suppose to know if a moderator thinks something may be construed as unkind or may at some point down the road become controversial? It's all subjective. I think we all know by now that if a group doesn't like you, they will hit the report button on anything you choose to say until it gets poofed. Those that abuse the report button should be banned.

The posting of the value of someone's life surely had intent and the reaction that followed.
Well that's too bad, somebody else brought up the value of a human beings life. Instead of a adult conversation, there were inferences and barbs that were completely UNNCESSARY. I'm glad the moderators removed the offensive posts before moving the thread.
Revisionism much?
Nope, not even close. Nice try though..........
