I was going to post the same thing. We had the best parents in the world, loved my childhood. Thankfully my mother is still with us. I can't imagine life without her.

Re: There will never be another . . .

Interesting thread and I agree with many of the names mentioned.

I'll add two to the list: Billy Graham and Margaret Thatcher

None of these people you mention were moral people to be respected for their values. I guess they were good actors. There will always be good actors.

This depends on what your definition of "moral" is, and I suspect that yours is quite different than mine.

Your post is why so many turn away from religion. Moralistic much?

Re: There will never be another . . .

I took this thread to be a light-hearted one -- there are many people who are "legends" in one field or another, be it entertainment, science, etc. Who are we to judge their morals? Actually, who are we to judge the morals of anyone? I'll leave that up to a much higher power than me.

Yes, there will always be GOOD actors, but not many GREAT ones. Also, people can judged on many different levels. Human beings are complicated. A person may be great at their profession but lousy in their personal life.

Mother Teresa wasn't moral?{#emotions_dlg.scared} And someone mentioned C S Lewis who in addition to his children's books (which by the way are heavy on Biblical metaphor) was one of the greatest Christian apologists in history and if you don't know what that means, google it.{#emotions_dlg.wink}

I also can't imagine anyone saying that James Stewart was immoral. Quite the opposite.
