Since Alberto is well past us I got up this morning thinking I'd go to water aerobics. Despite that it was very cloudy - we haven't seen much sun in the last 2 weeks -I was getting my gear together and thought I heard thunder in the distance. I looked at Weather bug on my phone and it said lightening was 3 miles away. So I know that means the pool is closed. We are in our third straight week of daily rainstorms. This morning it came with thunder and lightening. Everything outside is damp and soggy. The weatherman said we may get sunshine next Sunday. I brought in the cushions from the porch furniture and washed & dried them and told DH I think we need to keep them inside thru the summer unless we go out to sit, because they tend to get mildewed when they are damp.

It rained so hard here this morning I thought we were going to float away.

High fived Noah and the animals at breakfast again this morning as they made another lap.

It's been cloudy and mostly raining (misty) for so many days I've lost count.
I HATE dark cloudy days, add in rain for more than one day and I'm in a major funk.
My house is dark anyway so I walk around with every light on in the house. Add to that the humidity level here in the house is crazy. Every time I get the AC guy out here he says, "Miss Annabelle, it's because you don't have the AC turned down low enough". Ugh!
If I turn it down lower than, say, 74, my arthritis kicks in and ...... well...it hurts.
Boo hoo! What's a person to do? I've always been one to hibernate when it's cloudy and rainy. I never wanted to leave the house ..... at all.
So, what did I do? I had my youngest daughter who loves dark, cloudy days. When she comes to visit she turns off all the lights! Where did she move? To Colorado where they have an unbelievable number of sunny days! Ha!
I was just visiting her. No humidity, sunny days, beautiful weather.
Perhaps I should move to Colorado. Naw! She'd move back to Va! She loves me. I love her. We both like where we live so I guess I'll just stay planted here.....
Now where that's @#$% sun?

I'm in Ohio and we are expecting remnants of Alberto later today, tomorrow and I think possibly Friday. They are calling for possible heavy thunderstorms later.
Saturday, some areas around here got so much rain, things were flooded and yards are still like swamps. DH and I were camping and we got about 45 minutes of moderate rain then the sun came out.
I mowed our backyard last night and the very back part of our yard was still very wet and that was with 2 days of 90+ temps and sun. The grass was so thick though I figured if I didn't just plow through it, it would never dry out back there.

I’m sorry for those stranded and the reporters who were killed, but I’m ok with rain since I just put in new landscaping.

They (forecasters SW PA) have been telling us about possible rain since Friday of last week, but we haven't gotten any locally. Kind of hit & miss depending where you live here. Which is sort of unusual since Pittsburgh isn't known for sunny weather. After all this heat we could use some rain.

It seems strange to hear everyone talk about all the dreary, rainy weather when were sitting here in the Southwest in a state of severe drought and day after day of unrelenting sunshine. We had one overcast day over the week-end but it wasn't caused by clouds. It was smoke from a large wildfire in the Gila Wilderness near the Arizona State Line Southwest of Albuquerque.
