According to the news at noon today, my area of southern West Virginia has seen 4 completely dry days in the month of May.   I didn’t catch the verbal report on our rainfall amounts, but my husband thought it was over 15+ inches this month.

We are beyond saturated; several areas around me that have never flooded are isolated due to high water.   Mountain sides have washed down blocking roads, and trees have uprooted on many backroads.

We had a few days of sunshine but it is pouring today and dark outside.

@Laura14- isn’t that the truth. It’s rained most of the month.

I was so looking forward to winter being over as I hate winter. We had like one day of spring. We went immediately into summer which is more than fine with me, but it’s rained every single day for weeks. Please make it stop, LOL.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@gidgetgh  I know!  I was just looking at our weather and we may have Friday to actually see this thing called the sun.

Re: The rain continues...

All our landscape plants plus our potted flowers look fantastic. Apparently they prefer rain to sprinkler water. The oak in our backyard is growing daily.I swear the herbs are growing overnight. The flowers - petunias & geraniums are full & lush plants but no flowers because we need sun to get flowers.

The furniture on the lanai is filthy. Dirt gets on the screen & when it rains the rain pushes the dirt in. Everything needs scrubbed.  i suspect that will be a whole day cleaning project out there if it ever stops raining.

And all the windows need cleaned. DH does the outside and I do the inside.

I am in California, and it has been cold, with cloud cover all Spring.  It did rain a lot, for us.  Nothing like what the rest of the country has experienced though.  My edamame soybeans are a bust, nothing is thriving...but the trees. For weeks it had been cooler, cloud cover , yesterday was sunny and 90 degrees.  Last night, it was 46, this morning cloudy, breezy and cool.  It lifted at 3 pm.  I am a little sick of it.  So, I cannot imagine the rain you all have been experiencing.

Saw Tom Jones the other night at The Greek in LA and he swore he thought he was in Wales.

My feet are ice cold at the very moment!

The remnants of Alberto are pushing thru SW Michigan this evening. By now, it's just a lot of heavy rain, a few wind gusts and some thunder. The local weather people are beside themselves in their disappointment at the lack of severe weather.
