Re: The "Call Block" button on my Phone is Working Overtime Tonight!

@shell garden I don't have any idea how many are on mine.  There's a way I keep getting calls that are very similar to my cell phone.  It's so strange.  They come up on my house phone.

I keep reading where Verizon is going to do away with land lines...so far maybe it's only noise....I hope.  During 9-11 land lines were the only thing that worked.

Many of you have the same phone as I do.  There's a button that says "block call" and I simply push it when I get a robo call.  I've pushed it (no exaggeration probably at least 100 times since I've had it).

Tonight, for some reason it's already rang 4 times within 1 1/2 hours!  It only rings once and then the phone lights up with "Blocked Call".  Ahhhh!!  I love this phone!

Anyone else have this phone?  Isn't it delightful?

@Annabellethecat66  I have it! LOVE IT!  Like sweet revenge! I get a satisfaction from those who get blocked... I know what you mean!

Thank you, @Annabellethecat66!  I just ordered the phone from Amazon.  It will be here on Sunday and we can start blocking.  These calls have gotten totally out of hand.

I have a phone where you can block the call as it's ringing, but half the time I'm afraid to do it. Smiley Surprised  I wonder if it is a legit caller who is going to leave a message.  Then if they don't leave any message and I figure it was a junk call, I don't remember the numbers when they call the next day!  Some of them are obvious, but some are not.

That sounds like a great phone!  My husband keeps getting several calls each day on his cell phone from an "unknown" number and those are hard to block.  Wish they had something like that for cell phones.

@Annabellethecat66, are you aware that you can set the phone not to even ring once when a blocked number calls again?

Press call block, press the arrow down until "One ring for blocked call" appears; select then choose NO and save.

The phone will light up and indicate a blocked call but will no longer ring even once.

@Marp No I wasn't aware of that.  I never read any directions and I should.

However, I don't mind the one ring because I look over and see where it's blocked and the biggest smile comes across my face....heh! heh!

I don't know what they hear.  What does the other side hear?  Does anyone know?

Re: The "Call Block" button on my Phone is Working Overtime Tonight!

@Annabellethecat66

After seeing that phone mentioned here repeatedly, I did purchase it last year.

Like you, I am currently enjoying the benefits of all those annoying calls being blocked.

However, what I have noticed is there seems no let up in new calls coming in.  Many of them seem one time calls.

Their new tactic is to call using local exchanges.  No names listed on the Caller ID, but a local town name.  I guess they think if I see my own small home town listed, I will pick up.

No.

Don't know how many I currently have blocked, but it has got to be a lot.

It's a great phone system that has eliminated most of the nuisance calls.

They never seem to give up, but I keep blocking.

Re: The "Call Block" button on my Phone is Working Overtime Tonight!

@Witchy Woman Yes, I noticed they have found a way to make the calls seem local.  I've gotten to the point of where I hardly ever answer the house phone.

I give my Drs and SOME people my cell phone to call.  It's terrible to have a phone and to not feel like you can answer the thing.

Lately I've also gotten a few calls where there is no one there when I do answer it.  Don't know what that's about.
