I feel Tokyo 2020 should become Tokyo 2021. Defeating corona is the priority. A 🏅 secondary.

As someone who loves summer olympics, of course I understand.

@SeaMaiden - I agree! By then they should have a vaccine, which might not be totally effective, but will help a great deal!

Agreed. Olympic Village....that's why they will probably need to postpone it. It's not worth it at all for the world's greatest athletes to risk their lung function and lives for a competition, no matter how important it is.

Putting on the Olympics is such a Herculean effort, it’s more likely they would be canceled. Tokyo’s contract with the international Olympic Committee stipulates the games must be held in 2020. So pushing it to next year would require a contract change. I just don’t see it happening. Anything more than a couple months delay, I think there will be no games.

I've attended one Summer Olympics and two Winter Olympics. I can't imagine how Japan will pull this off ( they 're probably most concerned about losing their 25 billion dollar investment to date). There are so many moving parts, not to mention that without airlines how will many of potential attendees will even be able to get there?
